As a Senior Logistics Operations Manager for our client in the supply chain and logistics industry in Mumbai, Maharashtra, you will play a crucial role in optimizing operations and ensuring efficient and timely delivery of goods. Your strategic thinking and proven track record in managing complex logistics networks will be essential in driving operational excellence and fostering continuous improvement within the warehouse and transportation departments.Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement strategic operational plans to enhance efficiency and reduce costs across the supply chain.- Manage and coordinate all warehousing, inventory control, and transportation activities to ensure smooth operations.- Oversee a team of logistics professionals, providing leadership, mentorship, and performance management.- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement.- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations within the operational facilities.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align logistics operations with business objectives.- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and negotiate contracts for favorable terms and service levels.- Implement and maintain advanced logistics technologies and systems to improve tracking, visibility, and efficiency.- Analyze operational data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities.- Handle escalated operational issues and provide timely and effective resolutions.Qualifications Required:- Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Masters degree is a plus.- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in logistics and operations management, with a strong emphasis on warehousing and transportation.- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate large teams.- In-depth knowledge of logistics operations, supply chain principles, and best practices.- Proficiency in using logistics management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS, TMS).- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the Mumbai region and India.- Experience in implementing process improvements and lean methodologies is highly desirable.
