As a Senior Logistics Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the extensive logistics network of our client, a global leader in supply chain solutions. This fully remote position empowers you to efficiently manage operations from any location. Your primary responsibilities will involve managing various logistics activities including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution to facilitate the seamless and cost-effective movement of goods on a global scale.Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize logistics operations, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.- Manage all aspects of transportation, including carrier selection, negotiation, route planning, and performance monitoring.- Oversee warehousing operations to ensure efficient inventory management, order fulfillment, and space utilization.- Collaborate with internal teams, procurement, sales operations, and external partners (3PLs, carriers) to align the supply chain.- Implement advanced logistics technology and software to improve visibility, efficiency, and decision-making.- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations, providing regular reports to senior management.- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and safety standards.- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost operational efficiency, reduce waste, and mitigate risks.- Manage budgets for logistics operations to control costs and optimize resources.- Develop and mentor a high-performing logistics team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.Qualifications:- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a focus on global operations.- Proven experience in managing large-scale transportation networks and complex warehousing operations.- In-depth knowledge of logistics software (WMS, TMS, ERP systems).- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and devise strategic solutions.- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.- Demonstrated leadership ability and experience in managing teams.- Proficiency in international trade regulations and customs procedures.- Ability to work independently and effectively manage operations in a remote setting.- Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.This role provides you with the opportunity to drive significant impact on global supply chain performance.
