Job Description

You will be part of the Catalog Data Science Team at Walmart Global Tech, focused on utilizing the latest research in generative AI, artificial intelligence, machine learning, statistics, deep learning, computer vision, and optimization to ensure Walmarts product catalog accuracy, completeness, and optimization for customer experience. Your responsibilities will include:- Leading, mentoring, and managing a high-performing team of data scientists and ML engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture while guiding professional growth.- Driving data science initiatives aligned with Walmarts business goals, identifying opportunities for value creation and customer experience optimization in collaboration with senior management.- Overseeing end-to-end lifecycle of complex data science projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and quality standards.- Designing, building, and deploying machine learning models using technologies like generative AI, deep learning, computer vision, and statistical modeling to solve business problems.- Collaborating with engineering teams to establish robust data pipelines and infrastructure processes for data integration, quality assurance, governance, and compliance.- Partnering with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver impactful solutions, effectively communicating insights to drive decision-making.- Staying updated on the latest advancements in AI/ML technologies, driving innovation through experimentation with new methodologies and tools to enhance Walmarts product catalog capabilities.- Representing Walmart Global Tech in external forums by publishing research findings or presenting at conferences, fostering a culture of learning within the team by sharing best practices and insights.- Adhering to Walmarts policies, procedures, mission, values, standards of ethics, integrity, and quality standards, developing and recommending process standards and best practices across the retail industry.Qualifications Required:- PhD with > 7 years of relevant experience / Masters degree with > 10 years of experience/ 4-year bachelors degree with > 12 years of experience, preferably in Computer Science or a strongly quantitative discipline.- Proven track record of leading data science teams, strategic planning, partnering with cross-functional teams, and strong communication skills.- Good to have experience with Ecommerce domain.Additional Details about Walmart Global Tech:Walmart Global Tech is a team of software engineers, data scientists, cybersecurity experts, and service professionals within the worlds leading retailer, focused on making a significant impact and leading the retail disruption.
