As the Senior Software Engineering Manager in Embedded Linux & Firmware at Ecolab, you will play a crucial role in leading a team of engineers to develop robust and secure software solutions for Ecolabs IoT service offering. Your responsibilities will include:- Leading, mentoring, and inspiring a team of Embedded Linux and Firmware engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.- Overseeing end-to-end software development activities, applying SDLC best practices and ensuring adherence to secure by design principles.- Establishing, monitoring, and enhancing code quality metrics by facilitating code reviews, static analysis, automated testing, and continuous integration practices.- Working closely with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver scalable embedded solutions.- Driving technical decisions for system architecture, platform selection, build systems, and toolchain optimizations.- Supporting the professional growth of team members through coaching, training, and constructive feedback.- Managing project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery of high-quality embedded software products.- Overseeing incident analysis, root cause investigations, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions related to product security and code defects.Qualifications Required:- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.- 10 years of hands-on experience in embedded software development, including work with Embedded Linux and firmware platforms.- 5 years of leadership or management experience in a software engineering environment.- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile practices, and secure software development methodologies.- Demonstrated expertise in C/C, Python, or other languages commonly used for embedded development.- Experience with Linux kernel, device drivers, bootloaders, and build systems (e.g., Yocto, Buildroot).- Proven track record implementing code quality controls, automated testing, code reviews, and static and dynamic analysis.- Familiarity with secure coding standards, threat modeling, and vulnerability remediation in embedded systems.- Excellent communication, team leadership, and organizational skills.Preferred Qualifications:- Experience delivering products in regulated industries such as medical, automotive, or industrial.- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements (e.g., IEC 62443, ISO/SAE 21434).- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud-integrated embedded systems.- Contributions to open-source embedded projects or communities.Join Ecolabs team as a forward-thinking leader passionate about embedded software, code quality, and security to shape the future of secure, high-performance products.
