Job Description

As a software developer at GE Healthcare, you will be responsible for designing, building, delivering, and maintaining software applications and services in the areas of machine, cloud, platform, and application. Your role will involve collaborating with system engineers, frontend developers, and other software developers to implement solutions aligned with shared platforms and solutions. You will apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, software and product security, scalability, documentation practices, refactoring, and testing techniques. Writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality will be a key aspect of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will work on core data structures and algorithms, and provide technical expertise in design and implementation, while staying aware of industry trends and domain expertise.Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with system engineers, frontend developers, and software developers to implement solutions aligned with shared platforms and solutions.- Apply principles of SDLC, Lean/Agile/XP, CI, software and product security, scalability, documentation practices, refactoring, and testing techniques.- Write code meeting standards and delivering desired functionality using the selected technology.- Understand performance parameters and assess application performance.- Work on core data structures and algorithms using the language of choice.- Provide technical expertise in design and implementation.- Demonstrate awareness of industry trends and domain expertise.Qualifications Required:- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).- At least 3 years of professional experience in software development with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or STEM Majors.- Proven expertise (2 years) in Python with Object Oriented experience, including knowledge of at least one Python web framework.- Understanding of Python threading limitations, multi-process architecture, data structures, and packaging.- Debugging and unit testing skills using a well-known testing framework.- Good understanding of Database queries.- Knowledge of Python frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django).- Knowledge (2 years) on RESTful API design and implementation.Inclusion and Diversity:GE Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer where inclusion matters.
