Job Description

As a Lead Software Engineer at Vice President Level in the FINANCE Technology (FINTECH) department, your role involves leading the design, development, and delivery of scalable, enterprise-grade reporting and analytics solutions. You will be part of a greenfield project, responsible for driving the build vs. buy evaluation and multiple Proof of Concepts (POCs). Your key responsibilities include:- Architecting and implementing robust software systems using Java, Angular, and other modern technologies, ensuring best practices in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), code quality, and performance. - Collaborating with business stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional teams to define requirements, evaluate tools, and deliver innovative solutions aligned with business goals. - Driving the adoption of GenAI, Copilot, and AI-driven development practices to enhance automation, reporting, and developer productivity, including design, code completion, review, and automated test case generation. - Mentoring and leading a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and innovation. - Managing stakeholder relationships, communicating project status, and proactively addressing risks and challenges. - Promoting agile methodologies, automated testing, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for efficient and reliable software delivery. - Staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends and championing their adoption where relevant.Qualifications required for this role:- 12 years of experience in software engineering, specializing in Java (Spring Boot, REST APIs, etc.) as the primary skill. - Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and modern SDLC practices. - Proven experience building and scaling enterprise-level applications, preferably in cloud environments. - Proficiency in additional languages and frameworks (Python, SQL, databases, etc.) and ability to quickly learn new tech stacks as needed. - Demonstrated experience leveraging GenAI, Copilot, or AI-based tools for software development, automation, or reporting, including automated testing and code review. - Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. - Experience leading and motivating high-performing teams and managing stakeholder relationships in a global environment.Mandatory qualifications include prior experience in finance, investment banking, or related domains, business acumen, and experience with automated testing and testing frameworks. Additionally, proficiency in Angular or React as secondary front-end frameworks is an added advantage. Good to have additional skills include familiarity with Power BI, Apache Airflow, OLAP tools, and workflow automation, experience with tool evaluation, POC delivery, and greenfield project leadership, and a passion for innovation, continuous learning, and delivering business impact through technology.
