Job Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Gathers and maintains significant specialized knowledge and perspective related to the specific industry area supporting; maintains a network of contacts to assist in knowledge development. Participates in selected industry associations.
  • Creates and promotes industry positions. Translates trends into implications for company and clients.
  • Coordinates moderately complex research projects or parts of large, complex research and/or consulting projects to support sales and marketing efforts, product and service offering development and consulting strategy.
  • Develops, recommends and implements frameworks and models for conveying complex data and concepts, industry trends and company point of view to internal and external audiences.
  • Develops understanding of standard company business development methodology and supports proposal efforts as needed. Acts as expert in suporting efforts.
  • Ensures industry knowledge products leverage existing company knowledge, are branded and packaged appropriate, and are shared within the organization.
  • Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Masters degree in business administration or related industry field preferred
  • Nine or more years of consulting experience with research and knowledge development
  • Experience working with standard research tools, techniques, and methodologies
Other Qualifications
  • One to five years of additional relevant experience in one or more business or industry specialty areas
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to interface with internal and external clients and create appropriate knowledge assets
  • Strong analysis, critical thinking, and data synthesis skills
  • Strong organizational skills to balance and prioritize work to meet project margins
  • Good strategic knowledge and skill related to the industry being supported
  • Ability to coach and develop project associates on research and industry-specific topics
  • Ability and desire to actively pursue learning opportunities in research and industry-specific arenas
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel
