Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure and Critical Systems Support
  • Responsible for the development, documentation, and refinement of operational best practices as it relates to Virtustream IT Infrastructure management & support
  • Manage production and pre-production IT technology systems in a cloud/datacenter environment
  • Automate building systems and deploying applications
  • Create additional automation by scripting repetitive tasks
  • Manage and support Active Directory (Directory Services, DNS)
  • Coordinate with the Network Engineering team in supporting Virtustream corporate network
  • Provides technical expertise in developing solutions to complex IT problems, which require frequent use of ingenuity and creativity
  • Help in the gathering of data for capacity planning and performance analysis of IT infrastructure
  • Works with vendors to resolve hardware and software issues
  • Participate in projects
  • Monitor productions systems, respond to and troubleshoot incidents
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives, without appreciable direction
Essential Requirements:
  • Experienced systems engineer who has 7+ years of system administration experience with Windows Server 2008, 2012, and 2016 operating systems.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Exchange
  • Expert-level knowledge of Active Directory, including Group Policy creation and management
  • Experience with automated monitoring systems and technologies, with practical knowledge of MS SCOM, and SCCM, and automated patching procedures
  • Systems Administrator Skills in DNS, Load Balancing & LDAP
  • Familiarity with multiple technologies supporting IT networks
  • SharePoint, Syncplicity, Exchange, MS Office Suite (including O365)
  • Cisco Call Manager
  • Familiarity with Cisco Ironport (Security) devices
  • In-depth knowledge of technologies from VMware, Cisco and EMC
  • Experience in a service provider environment, cloud infrastructure technologies, cloud based automation, or consultative role related to cloud technologies projects is a plus
