Job Description

The Analyst must be proven in the ability to conduct analyses to enable evidence- based decision making. The role will use simple and complex statistical theories and methods to explore, infer and predict. Using these combination of skills, the analyst will help West to uncover information and extract meaning from the data, supporting West s workforce and HR activities. The person must be energetic, proactive, organized and passionate about data science and how it can be used to positively influence organizations and people operations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Convert complex data into visually appealing presentation formats to be delivered to audiences at all levels, including dashboard creations
  • Works with technology, HR & IT to build and maintain the People Analytics dashboards Work directly with IT to assist with analytics infrastructure as well as designing and implementing a central data warehouse
  • Ability to integrate multiple systems and data sources to build large and complex data sets and making them usable for analytics studies (e.g. transforming and cleaning data, working with incomplete data sources, etc )
  • Apply simple and complex statistical theories and methods to explore, infer and predict
  • Perform data manipulation, cleansing and analysis
  • Work closely with the HR Organization to understand the needs of the business and build new opportunities to maximize the value from analytics & reporting
  • Continuously learn and share knowledge about new ways to mine data and distill meaning out of the data available, finding creative ways to work around limitations
  • Take ownership of data models and solutions by communicating and advocating their use to the Manager of People Analytics
  • Collaborate closely with the People Analytics Team and play an advisory role/pair with the Data Science Analysts.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Education or Equivalent Experience: Bachelor of Science, preferably in Mathematics or Statistics
  • 3+ years of work experience in process/analytically focused role, ideally supporting HR processes and metrics
  • Expertise in Excel (e.g. formulas, charting, etc)
  • Experience with analytics tools such as Power BI (a Microsoft application)
  • Experience with HR Systems; SAP and SuccessFactors preferred
  • Strong understanding of HRMS database design, structure, functions and processes, and reporting tools
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects
  • Experience with HRMS such as UltiPro, SAP HCM, SuccessFactors or other
  • Experience working with virtual teams across diverse geographical locations
