The worldwide Selling Partner Promotions team (SPP) builds self-service and internal tools for Selling Partners and Amazonians to create and manage all kinds of promotions such as such as Price Discounts, Deals of the Day, Lightning Deals, Best Deals, Point of Sale Discount and more.About Operational eXcellence TeamSelling Partner Promotions Operational eXcellence Team(SPP-OX) enable Amazon promotions to go fast by providing real-time feedback on production systems. We work side by side with the product family and platform developers to maintain and improve services and performance. We live the company values with a strong customer focus and possess a healthy sense of urgency.,
• Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field
• 2+ years overall development/technical support experience
• 1+ years experience running and maintaining a 24x7 production environment
• Experience in java/Perl/Python/shell scripts
• Knowledge of the UNIX/Linux operating system
• Knowledge of Java based technologies
• Ability to write intermediate level database queries. SQL skills.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to solve complex problems independently
• Excellent documentation skills
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience developing distributed/scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications in a 24/7 environment.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services or equivalent
• Experience with Relational and NoSQL database systems
• Proven ability to write scripts and automation using Java / python
• Ability to drive consensus within a team and influence outcomes in significant technical decision-making.
• Experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
