Job Description

Job Description - Assistant Professor - University Librarian Essential Qualification:

  • A Master s Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale
  • A Ph.D. Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation / Archives and Manuscript-keeping
  • The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET / SET etc.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • The candidate must have good knowledge of innovative library services, including the integration of ICT in a library
  • Ability to recognize the need to connect library value to university goals and mission through key indicators (learning analytics, library s role in research activity, quality, and visibility)
  • Manage the collection and development of the books and journals in the University library
  • Take responsibility and ownership of selecting, developing, cataloguing and classifying library resources
  • The candidate must have the knowledge of using new tools and software in the library management and adapt to the software used in house
  • Promote the skill of reading among the students
