Job Description

This role is for our Independent Software Vendor (ISV) team in India, focusing on helping our customers build cloud enabled B2B software systems and products. As a Solutions Architect you will work hand in hand with AWS customers to help them make the most of the AWS platform.Solutions Architects are at the crossroads of business and technology and engage with organizations at all stages of cloud adoption. They are responsible for the overall technical relationship between customers and AWS and make recommendations on security, delivery practices, performance, reliability, operational efficiency, and cost effectiveness. They work to understand the customers needs and give prescriptive guidance on how to create business value with AWS technology. Solutions Architects guide activities such as architecture reviews, white-boarding sessions, Proof of Concept development, demos, and technical workshops.Each AWS team has its own unique focus and skills, and the ISV team is no different. We focus on how best to support our customers build and deliver products, services and, solutions. Solutions Architects in ISV come from a software delivery background and weave this experience in with the recommendations, advice and guidance they give to customers. ISV SAs work with and in our customer s software delivery teams.In this role you will get to practice your creativity, linking technology to tangible solutions and educating AWS customers about the art of the possible. You will have the opportunity to define or invent cloud-native reference architectures for a variety of use cases, create and present technical content, provide technical advice and guidance, and share best practices. The Solutions Architecture team is a diverse group of technologists from a variety of backgrounds. Practical knowledge of the AWS platform is desired but not required, provided you have a sound technical foundation and a desire to learn.You will have the support to grow your expertise in industry and technology areas of depth. The guidance you provide will be shaped by our customers best interests.- Share the voice of the customer to inform the roadmap of AWS features.- Grow the ISV team s ways of working and sense of belonging and the capability of the wider ISV AWS group.- Participate in the creation and sharing of best practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts, PoCs).- Evangelize and educate about AWS technology (e.g. through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).- Contribute to the growth of the Solutions Architecture organization by interviewing candidates and having a voice in hiring decisions. You will also be helping others develop new skills by mentoring team members.- Take full advantage of the training and developmental support AWS offers, to grow technically and personally to nurture a better you., Background in the following: Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture. Have worked in technical teams and have relevant software delivery skills. Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English. A passion for technology and for learning in areas such as - Data Engineering, DevOps, Micro-services, Containers, and Serverless architectures. The following qualifications are desired but not required: Experience designing, building, refactoring or operating large scale and impactful IT systems - either on premises or in the cloud Working knowledge of cloud native architectures Knowledge of a modern programming language (.Net, Python, JavaScript, Go, Java, etc.) and/or scripting, Infrastructure as Code etc. In-depth working knowledge in a technology domain such as distributed internet-scale web or mobile applications, DevOps, enterprise workloads using Windows, high-performance databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), complex networking implementations, highly secured workloads etc. Experience working with Software Vendors Experience in product design Experience working in a customer-facing role Experience with public speaking AWS certification (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional) or other industry certification Continued or advanced learning (Master, MBA, PhD or equivalent)Amazon.com is an Equal Opportunity-Affirmative Action Employer Minority / Female / Disability / Veteran / Gender Identity / Sexual Orientation/ Age.
