SUMMARY OF POSITION AND OBJECTIVES:

AX Infra Support Engineer is responsible for providing deployment and infrastructure support for AX Applications and maintaining IT services and applications (e.g.: servers, in house developed application, 3rd party applications, monitoring, etc.) in collaboration with other IT teams and according to defined processes (e.g. Incident Management and Change Management).

POSITION & OBJECTIVES :

AX expertise - AX Infra support Engineer should have proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics AX, and in general they must have working knowledge of firewalls, servers, networks, and operating systems.

Troubleshooting - It is important for AX Infra support Engineer to be excellent problem - solvers who can determine post deployment issues and provide quick solutions.

Attention to detail - when providing deployment support, engineers must ensure that all details are correct, from configuration settings to processes followed in order to avoid malfunctions and security breaches.

Customer service - AX Infra support Engineer must possess a strong customer orientation, since they provide technical support as requested and explain Infrastructure issues to Application teams in simple terms.

Technical writing - AX Infra support Engineer must be comfortable with technical writing if they are to produce documentation and SOP s related to deployment support.

Job description:

Installing, configuring and maintaining all aspects of Dynamics AX ERP including AX technology stack (AOS, Client, Enterprise Portal, Share Point, Workflows, SQL, IIS) in a large scale and distributed environment

  • Technical responsibilities including monitoring, troubleshooting of multi - tiered, technical application support (e.g. workflow, batches, notifications etc.) and overall environment responsibility in multi - instance AX environment
  • Review, recommend and needed Microsoft Dynamics AX hotfixes and patches
  • Establish, coordinate and maintain technical solution/systems documentation
  • UAT and PROD maintenance (full compilation, DB synch, Full CIL)
  • Windows hotfix installation.
  • SQL job creation for AX requirement.
  • PROD data synch to UAT and Test environments.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Must have:

  • AX4.0/AX2009/AX2012R3 installation, configuration and administration experience, ideally in large scale and distributed international Dynamics AX environment
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL 2012/SSRS and SQL 2012 technology stacks and good understanding of IT Infrastructure and Operations in context of SQL for Dynamics AX
  • Experience with Windows operating systems including general administration skills such as AD, GPO, Backups, Security in cooperation with IT Infrastructure & Operations team
  • Ability to identify sources of problems and to be forwarded to respective teams.

Nice to have:

  • Exposure with various network, system and application monitoring tools and experience with Performance Optimization
  • Exposure in IIS 7.0/8.0, Share Point and Web applications domain in area of installation, configuration and maintenance
