Scroll down to learn more about the position s responsibilities and requirements.- AMD is seeking to build and strengthen our Development Operations practice across the board by identifying talented DevOps Solution Architects to join our team. Our ideal candidate will possess skills that make them a subject matter expert in building distributed systems, infrastructure, automation, and security architecture.RESPONSIBILITIES- Design, architect, and implement next generation system architecture and automation solutions- Implement, maintain, and improve Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery environments- Own and lead initiatives to define, design, and implement DevOps solutions which includes reference architectures, estimates, and costing- Identify roadblocks and inefficiencies in existing ecosystems, plan and implement processes/ tools to rmeove them- Act as a subject matter expert on DevOps best practices in Software packaging and distribution ecosystems, multi-stage pipelines for code promotions, infrastucture automation and Enterprise Security- Build scalable and extensible ecosystems that will stand the test of time and change, to maximize productivity and efficiency in stakeholder teams- Mentor and guide junior team members in coding, designing, reviewing and building robust implementations- Create technical documentationREQUIREMENTSInfrastructure: Artifactory, Git, Gerrit and GitHubAutomation: Jenkins, Ansible, puppet, Chef, Salt StackOperating systems: Ubuntu 16.04, Fedora, CentOS, CoreOS, Gentoo and RedHatProgramming: Shell scripting (preferrably bash), CMake, GNU Make, C, Java, Python, Groovy. Familiarity with C++ a bonus.APIs & Frameworks: REST API, Google test, autotest, linux-text-project, virtualization frameworks in linux.Development tools: Docker, linux tool-chain (gdb, ldd, etc.)Have a very good understanding of networking fundamentals, i.e. DHCP, DNS, PXE, VLAN/IP, Virtualization networking modes.- Expertise in software packaging and distribution systems, specifically in Linux.- Expertise in branching and code promotion strategies- Expertise in architecture, design and development of continuous build, test, delivery and deployment systems- Expertise with PaaS orchestration tools like Docker, Docker compose, Docker Swarm and Kubernetes- Expertise with development of microservices- Expertise in Enterprise Software Architecture Design patterns- Strong knowledge of cloud environments- Practical expertise in performance tuning and optimization, bottleneck problems analysis- Active community member and contributor to open source projects is a plus- Solid technical expertise and troubleshooting skills- Fluent verbal and written EnglishPREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience working with deployment and orchestration technologies (such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Jenkins)- Experience working with scalable networking technologies such as Load Balancers/Firewalls and web standards (REST APIs, web security mechanisms).,
