Your role Primary Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a Senior Engineer, Battery Algorithms. This position requires an experienced professional with a strong research background in battery control algorithms, combined with a passion for improving lives of the masses hit by energy poverty
Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with passion and determination.
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
You can expect to swim in a data lake showered with a variety of cell and battery pack test data, on-field product performance info, and laboratory test data to create state-of-the-art feedback control and estimation algorithms for Nunam s battery packs.
Also, create and integrate models, define algorithms, write testing code, and evaluate the performance of the product throughout the lifecycle.
Your Technical Profile:
Degree in Electrical,or Physics preferred Good understanding of the electrochemistry of Li Ion batteries Electrical engineering background to understand impact of load behaviours on battery performance estimation.
Excellent experience in developing solutions and validating them using control theories like Kalman filters, state observers and others.
Experience in writing efficient codes to analyse large data sets.
Should use advanced analytical interpretation and discretion to provide creative solutions.
High level of mathematical and modelling capabilities to develop and verify algorithms, and expertise in numerical analysis.
Experience with at least one of the tools like MATLAB /Simulink , COMSOL, Battery Design Studio, Ansys/Fluent, Auto Lion or other software tools for modelling lithium ion batteries
Able to discover insights based on experiment data Able to design test plans to characterize battery and control algorithm performance Related academic publications in peer reviewed journals
Excellent skills in communication, problem solving and critical thinking.
Work on projects from cell capacity, impedance, energy, and degradation estimation to diagnostics of sensors, cells and battery pack components.
Acquire, process , and analyse experimental data to determine battery cell electrochemical performance and thermal behaviour
Development of equivalent circuit models for lithium ion cells and battery packs and use them to simulate a variety of operating conditions
Development and simulation of electrochemical models of lithium ion cells and electrodes to better understand physical and electrochemical phenomenon
Develop mathematical models of lithium ion batteries under extreme operating conditions based on electrochemistry knowledge and test data
Provide novel battery management system control solutions to optimize dischargeable capacity, cycle life, and charge time
Work on battery estimation algorithms regarding SOC, SOH, impedance, and performance limitation under given operating conditions
Develop and integrate multiple models to understand second life cell behaviour in a pack. Model power and energy of cells with a variety of cells /materials and loads.
Develop strategies for pack design Unearth more challenges in using second life cells.
Coordinate safety, certification, and reliability testing for next generation battery system Development continuous improvement framework of all the algorithms.
