Job Description

Performs a variety of moderately- difficult to difficult 2D/ 3D CADD drafting assignments under minimal to moderate supervision, which require the application of standard CADD drafting techniques and at times, accepted engineering formulas in accordance with the company s established standards and procedures. Incumbent will utilize various CADD drafting/ design techniques per CDM Smith CADD and/ or client provided standards. Immediate supervisor provides direct technical guidance for unusually difficult assignments. Good communication in English, manage drafting task with very minimum guidance. Minimum Qualifications Diploma in Engineering with vocational technical training in CADD drafting technology and 3D drafting technology with 6- 9 years of related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/ experience). The incumbent must possess a strong working knowledge of core 3D CADD applications (such as Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD 2D/ 3D), as outlined above. Experience should include preparing complete sets of 2D/ 3D engineering and construction drawings which may include multiple views (sections, plans, pictorial representations etc.), detail drawings, general arrangement/ layout drawings and assembly drawings of equipment, facilities, or systems where minimal information is provided by rough sketches and/ or verbal outlines of requirements. Must have proficient knowledge in handling Revit and other BIM application tools and concept of BIM. Capable of producing Revit plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules etc. must be familiar with all Revit tools and creating and editing view range, drafting views, view templates, system families, materials, project/ shared parameters, multi- category schedules, project title blocks, worksets, Revit category- based profile, annotation families etc., must be capable of link multiple Revit files and work. Capable of handling Revit projects without any guidance from the superior and managing the tasks with sharing the work with others. Must be capable of performing Clash detection using Navisworks and Revit interference check, export Clash reports, review clash reports etc. The incumbent will be able to perform all lower level drafter tasks and in addition: Link Drawing Information to Tables and External Files Link Images in CADD Drawings (BMP, JPG, PDF, GIF) Work with annotative multi texts and dimensions Create/ edit and configure Layers for project specific use Create Dynamic Blocks with parameters Customize the User Interface Create a plot set from project drawings, using publishing and/ or sheet set techniques Convert drawings between imperial and metric units using CADD system variables/ workspace variables Load and utilize Lisp and/ or MDL applications Import/ export standard CADD interchange formats such as DGN, DWF, and PDF etc. Save files between different file versions and can verify drawing fidelity. Demonstrate manipulating the UCS (User Coordinate System) in 3D space Use different 3D representations such as shading, conceptual etc. Install and utilize object enablers to properly display objects from other CADD applications and adjust the settings effectively to produce the desired results as needed. Export 3D geometry for use by subcontractors and outside agencies. Assist in the production of producing 2D sheets (plans, sections, 3D clips and details) from 3D/ 4D multi- discipline models under close supervision from senior 3D Modeling staff (Transitional 2D techniques) Complete other duties as assigned appropriate for the designated grade level Preferred Qualifications B.E. (Civil or Civil/ Structural) Experience with Structural drawings, developing equipment layout and site plan drawings. Experience in leading the drafting related tasks and coordinating with client to get the deliverables completed on schedule and budget.
