Business Analyst II

Job Description

CSG is looking for an experienced, eager and results orientated Business Analyst to help support and grow CSG s DevOps initiatives. This role will be the vital link between our business and technology teams for scoping, estimation and solutioning of new systems or systems enhancements. This role will help to ensure the successful completion of analytical, building, testing and deployment tasks of DevOps software and tools. This role will analyze leading edge DevOps tools such as Microsoft s Azure DevOps and provide requirements and recommendations for processes and use across CSG. This role will analyze existing CSG processes and tools and provide recommendations and requirements to enable CSG to move to more DevOps capabilities. The Business Analyst will be part of a growing and thriving DevOps Portfolio Management Technical Practices team.Position Details: ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
• Collaborate with business owners and product manager to determine the business needs and create functional requirements for project team (Epics, features, user stories, UI mockups/wireframes with appropriate details).
• Gather all relevant information before drawing conclusions, making decisions or suggesting possible technology solutions.
• Lead cross functional teams by liaising between business partners, product managers and technology teams in creation of features, stories and acceptance criteria, supporting the timely implementation of initiates.
• Lead and facilitate requirements sessions with various stakeholders and continuously deliver results through collaboration.
• Analyze impacted products and processes for gaps (AS-IS and TO-BE) and identify innovative solutions that balance timelines, scope and complexity.
• Plan sprints, groom the backlog and keep yourself and the team moving forward.
• Coordinate with technical resources to develop workable solutions that meet customer expectations.
• Drive pre-release planning process to ensure sufficient information is available for the development team prior to release planning.
• Ensure review checkpoints are adhered to and feedback incorporated into the SDLC process.
• Develop, maintain and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of various CSG products, services and solutions and assist in execution/support during UAT.
• Build trust and respect, establish relationships and develop rapport with the technical and non-technical teams.
• Drive value throughout the SDLC process by effective application of best practices resulting in high quality and on time delivery.
REQUIREMENTS: Education/Experience:
• Bachelor s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
• 3 to 5 years of work experience in an analysis role.
• Entrepreneurial mentality of rolling up the sleeves and doing whatever is necessary to meet goals.
• Ability to think analytically, solve problems, make decisions, and collaborate and work with a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to quickly understand abstract concepts and break it down into clear features and user stories applicable for effective implementation.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate business functionality and opportunities into clear, precise and easy to read artifacts (UI mockups, user stories, functional requirements).
• Experience with MS office products (i.e., Word, Visio, Excel, Power Point) and Atlassian suite (Jira) or similar tools.
• Experience working in Agile development projects, and ideally worked on large scale projects where a hybrid of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies were utilized by technology teams.
• Ability to interact and develop relationships with all levels of personnel, including management, from both business and technology teams.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to adapt and handle multiple activities with changing priorities simultaneously.
• Possess broad skills in business, technology and user experience and the ability to easily transition between them.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps, Azure, AWS or other Cloud and SaaS is desired but not required.
• Knowledge of project management and software delivery methodologies is desired.
• Experience mentoring other Business Analysts and conducting peer reviews of key deliverables to ensure documentation completion and quality is preferred.
• Experience with Software build systems is desired but not required.
• Experience with BMC Helix and Atlassian JIRA is a plus.
• Experience with Power BI is a plus.
Language Ability:
• Strong communication skills with an ability to express complex business concepts in technical/functional terms via presentation, written and oral format.
• Must be able to communicate with internal and external customers in a clear, concise and understandable manner both verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in a remote environment.
