Job Description

POSITION : Business Development Manager South India REPORTS TO: Solid Sales Head Specialty, Dotted line Sales Head, Beverages ABOUT Company The Company is a globally acting manufacturer of plastic caps and closures for beverage, food and non - food markets with 23 factories in 20 countries across the world made according to the same quality and service standards to its global customers. It has 5 R&D centers globally to serves customers with insights and innovations. Its range of products includes tamper evident and child resistant systems, induction heat seal systems, gas barrier closures, oxygen scavengers, carbonation and pressure retention systems, venting caps and hot fill closures. Job Description * Identify & develop ne w business opportunities in the designated market / region in line with the Market Strategy Plan. * Connect with Customers to build a solid opportunity pipeline and drive the sales of Beverages & Specialty businesses. * Protect & grow in the existing customers developing excellent relationship at all levels. * Work closely with sales leaders & internal teams to define product and service strategies that drive regional growth and profitability. * Manage the sales administration effectively to ensure clean payment, C - forms status in region. Job Responsibility * Strategy & Implementation : Define market & product plans, which clearly establish product positioning (or product differentiation strategies) versus competitive products, product development direction, service programs, pricing & margins guidelines and profitability targets. This includes the development of new market and / or applications. * Growing the Business : Define and drive short and mid - term product plans and longer term product roadmaps and end use customer program. Grow the business by identifying the unmet needs of the End users & translating into development and introduction of new and up - graded products to address these needs in the market. * Product Launches & Support : Conduct competitive product assessments based on the industry trends. Drive product launches with communication and training. Ensure that new products are introduced professionally, with appropriate positioning, pricing, sales materials, promotions and accompanying services. * Product Portfolio & Inventory: Manage the regional product portfolio to ensure that the right inventory and / or products are manufactured at the plant. Create & manage a successful long term product strategy to achieve required sales value and margins along with the objectives (manage product life cycle). * Measurement and Analysis: Assess current revenue performance and monitor product profitability. Partner with organization to ensure development of programs, tools initiatives to improve performance. Manage products with respect to forecast, packaging, range, logistic requirements, etc. * Margin: Manage product profitability. Skills / Knowledge Required : * In depth knowledge of markets in the region, their decision making processes, needs, trends, purchasing behavior, drivers. * Strategic thinking approach & d rive for results * Ensure execution, capable of conducting a detailed analysis and recommending clear action plans * Effective negotiations skills, resourceful and proactive in solving problems and delivering solutions * Focus On Customers Ability to network with customers, and channel partners. * Build Relationships - Demonstrated capability to develop customer relationships across all functions and levels * Innovative thinking & ability to challenge the organization internally & externally to execute the ideas * High degree of personal integrity; sense of duty to contribute meaningfully and an attitude willing to share credit for accomplishment. EDUCATION : * Bachelor s degree required. MBA is a plus. * At least 7 years of commercial business experience . Packaging experience highly valued. Candidates should have relevant experience in marketing. * Experience in product development and new product commercialization * Must be able to champion and drive new business ventures * Fluent in business English and one other local language; excellent written and verbal communications skills.
