Amazon launched its first offering for Indian customers in Feb, 2012 with Junglee.com aggregating millions of offers (SKUs) from 1,000+ ecommerce sites providing product and price discovery to Indian customers. It is a hotbed of creative ideas and constant innovation.About the Role:Category Managers at Amazon have end to end responsibility of the customer experience and growth of category/ sub-categories they have been assigned to. Amazon strives to present its customers with the widest selection of products at the best prices - The Category managers role is to bring in the relevant assortment, design targeted promotions, manage partners including sellers and brands.Category managers anticipate customer needs and incorporate them into the functional road map and will drive a major change or enhancement for customer experience influencing the needs of a category / sub-categories based on their knowledge of competitive trends in the marketplace and other macro environment data. The successful candidate for this high impact role will be a self-starter with a passion for independent, creative problem-solving, have proven data analysis skills, demonstrate great voice and content creation skills, show strong ownership and commitment, have proven leadership experience in managing projects, and bring relevant insights in marketing and merchandising.To succeed in this role, you will need to be flexible and entrepreneurial and comfortable operating with ambiguity. You should be passionate about the potential customer and business impact and will operate at all levels, diving deep into the operational details while providing strategic inputs for the development of the program. You must be able to develop clear thinking and business rationale for new features & services to bring customers ease-of-use and innovation with a razor sharp focus on solving for the customer while driving operational excellence in execution. You will work with external manufacturers and internal stakeholders (including product teams and private brands category teams) to launch new selection and deliver a best-in-class customer experience. You will also partner with global teams in developing and deploying scalable tools and processes to drive operational excellence and program growth. We expand the funnel of made for Amazon products by providing Accelerator Selling Partners product design insights and helping them solve for coldstart for New to Amazon products.Category Manager, Amazon Accelerator Roles & Responsibilities will include: Building the category strategy and execution plan Identification and Development of relationships with key brand and selling partners Owning customer experience metrics and data quality Identifying defects and developing scalable processes to address and grow the Accelerator business Influencing executive decision-makers, helping them to understand the brand, desired product positioning, key points of difference, and target customer. Partnering closely with cross functional teams including the retail category teams, marketing, legal, finance, to deliver on goals. Managing a team of associates to drive key customer inputs for Accelerator Selling Partners and continuously improve the same through scalable mechanisms. Weekly and monthly tracking of category metrics to monitor goals and diving deep where needed to drive continuous improvement. Process development, operational planning to support forecasting/inventory investments., MBA or equivalent post-graduation, with 3-4 years of experience in Category or Key Account Management and Business Development Experience in a highly analytical, results-oriented environment with external customer interaction required. Proven analytical skills and demonstrated ability to manage the business by the numbers . Must be metrics-driven. Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills and the ability to express thoughts logically and succinctly. Demonstrated active listening skills, highly consultative and solutions-oriented. Work experience in consumer product sales/marketing or in e-commerce. Prior experience influencing C-level executives.
