About the Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME) The jobs challenge : Traditional methods of job creation in India (e.g. white collar jobs, high-growth start-ups, and self-employment) are unable to keep pace with the number of youth entering the workforce. Mass enterprises (MEs), firms with 5 to 20 employees, a common lever of job creation in many countries such as USA, China, Bangladesh, is significantly underutilized in India.In Aug 2018, influencers and prominent organizations in entrepreneurship development identified the need for a national-level organization to mainstream and build a thriving ecosystem around mass entrepreneurship and therefore, GAME. Our Mission : Our mission is to catalyze an India-wide movement of entrepreneurship and favorable conditions for the growth of both existing and new enterprises, resulting in 50 million new jobs by 2030. We aim to ensure that at least a quarter of new businesses are women-owned. We hope to inspire and support similar movements in other parts of the world facing similar challengesThrough action driven coalitions (taskforces) around key themes such as ease of doing small business, access to finance, MSME acceleration and more, we hope to develop an ecosystem that encourages and enables entrepreneurship. We have 80+ partners across government, civil society, corporates, and donors as part of the GAME Alliance.GAME is a non-profit (a Section 8 company) supported by a number of institutions including Social Alpha (Tata Trusts), Ikea Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Omidyar Networks and Microsoft.For more information please visit our website: www.massentrepreneurship.org Position Overview : We are looking for an extraordinary leader as CEO, GAME. This once in a life time opportunity is no less than a calling- one you are drawn to because of the audaciousness of the mission and because you have a compelling desire to both, be and lead the change.- Ideally you are a leader with at least 15 years of experience from the private sector- either a successful entrepreneur or a senior executive with a track record of building and leading a company, business or program with significant scale and complexity.- You are entrepreneurial, love taking on big challenges and thrive on tackling complex problems with a lot of ambiguity. You are at a point in life where anything less is of absolutely no interest to you.- You thrive in diversity and enjoy working with lots of different people and partners across all sectors and have done so comfortably in all your previous avatars. Responsibilities : The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has overall strategic and operational responsibility for GAMEs mission, programs, partnerships and team. The CEO reports to a Board which includes GAMEs founders, funders, advisors and taskforce chairs. - Orchestrate the development and execution of GAMEs strategy, programs and ensure impact at scale- Attract, Hire and grow top talent for solving these hard challenges. - Lead fundraising efforts for GAME and its partners, actively engage funders and ensure financial and compliance discipline- Develop and manage senior relationships with key partners across private sector, governments and CSOs to drive impact at scale - Provide and project thought leadership across all aspects of GAMEs mission GAMEs promise to you :Working with a mission-driven and problem focused Alliance will ensure you : - Build terrific networks : The Alliance includes the best and brightest in private sector, social sector, and will offer you a tremendous opportunity to flex your entrepreneurial thinking and experience. - Wear many hats, be a Pied Piper : Play the role of a strategist, advisor, convenor, facilitator, match maker etc., for on-ground entrepreneurs and other stakeholders - Double down on your passion : As an entity engaging with entrepreneurship through many different pathways (e.g. finance, school curriculum, gender etc.) you will have opportunities to focus on things you care about while also playing a definitive role in establishing the entrepreneurship narrative in the country. - Be a true systems thinker : Break down complex problems and identify how different levers and actors can add up to collective impact to support and make entrepreneurship aspirational.This will not be an ordinary, boring job- the mission will be a Star Trek journey one like youve never been on before.,
