Your work as an editor and cinematographer that will involve:1. Receiving a brief, and maybe an outline of footage and a shot list, script, or screenplay.2. Assembling all raw footage, with camera shots either recorded or transferred onto video tape in preparation for ingesting into the computer.3. Import uncut rushes and sound, and syncing and storing them into archive.4. Digitally cutting the files to put together the sequence of the film and deciding what is usable.5. Creating a rough cut of the programme/film and determining the exact cutting for the final stages.6. Reordering and fine-tuning the content to ensure the logical sequencing and smooth running of the film/video.Additional tasks may include:1. Testing the quality and progress of audio, video engineering and editing.2. Experimenting with styles and techniques including the graphic elements.3. Writing voiceover/commentary, suggesting or selecting music.4. You may also carry out online editing duties, which involve finalising technical aspects such as correcting faulty footage, colour grading & adding VFX/SFX.
