Job Description

These values combine to help us create important work all over the world to advance how people live and work.As a Specialist Software Engineer, you will be responsible for design and development of automation and software tools to support SAP Solutions as-a-service for HPE GreenLake. You will work closely with Technical Architects to provide technical aid in all aspects of automation, and coordinate with geographically distributed teams, across the globe. You will be an important player in the SAP solutions team and responsible for delivering high quality automation software.Responsibilities:

  • Involve and contribute in all stages of developing automation tools, including design, analysis, coding, testing, and debug
  • Participate in code and design reviews, and demonstrate the progress to key stakeholders
  • Review design and process for compliance with standard development guidelines, and support continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross functional and remote teams for successful project completion
  • Provide assistance in defining requirements, planning, and setting priorities/appropriate milestones
  • Work with architects, platform engineers to implement, test, and document the practices for automating the deployment of server platforms, Operating Systems and software stacks
  • Mentor junior engineers to ramp up their skills to the required level
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience in Infrastructure, Platform, Workload automation in a Datacenter/Cloud environment
  • Experience in Python, Perl, or Shell scripting, Java
  • Experience in install/configure/upgrade of VMware, SLES, RHEL, and Windows
  • Ability to create new and understand the existing automation/framework and update
  • Experience in bug report and tracking system
  • Good communication and documentation skills
Desired skills:
  • Experience in Ansible, RedFish API, REST API, or similar
  • Hands on experience on hardware such as Servers, Storage, Networking
  • Exposure to SAP HANA/NetWeaver or any other database/apps server
  • Exposure to public, private cloud such as AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Understanding of high availability, scalability, fault tolerance on cloud environment
Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 -8 years of applicable work experience
  • Exposure to VMware VCF
