*Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Every day at Oracle is different, as new clients, markets and business opportunities push us to achieve great results.Our team works on two Cloud Services, namely Database Recovery Cloud Service (DBRS) and Recovery Catalog Cloud Service (RCCS).DBRS brings Oracles Engineered System, Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA) to the cloud as an Oracle managed, cost-effective, elastically scalable, multi-tenant, database optimized backup/recovery solution that continue to leverage existing benefits of ZDLRA to provide the best protection to On-Premise, Oracle Cloud Services and Cloud@Customer databases.Oracle s ZDLRA is a cloud-scale engineered system designed to dramatically eliminate data loss and reduce data protection overhead for all Oracle databases. In the enterprise, ZDLRA is a groundbreaking data protection solution that tightly integrates with the Oracle Database. It delivers the recovery assurance you need to protect business-critical information across your enterprise. Integrated with Recovery Manager (RMAN), it enables a centralized, incremental forever backup strategy for hundreds to thousands of databases in the enterprise, using cloud-scale, fully fault-tolerant hardware and storage. Using two innovative technologies of Delta Push and Delta Store, ZDLRA can create Space-Efficient Virtual Full Backups. The appliance provides databases with sub-second recovery point objectives and continuously validates backups for assured recoverability of Oracle data.RCCS is an Oracle managed Cloud Service for creating and managing the RMAN Recovery Catalog in Oracle Cloud. RCCS manages backup metadata of Oracle Cloud Services.We are looking for an experienced Cloud Ops Engineer with cloud services experience to join our Cloud operations team. In this role, you will define, design, implement, triage and support software solutions that validate the functioning and automate the management of DBRS and RCCS cloud services with the goal of providing a highly reliable, scalable and performant cloud service to support Oracle Cloud services and Cloud@Customers customers.You will partner with core engineering team responsible for architecting, designing, developing and managing the service. Through this work, you will play a key role in increasing the velocity of engineering while still driving quality into the service development lifecycle across all development teams. You will champion creating an engineering environment that embodies the best development and testing practices for delivering high quality services.Minimum Qualifications* BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.* Ability to automate tasks using Java, Python, Perl, bash, and Selenium* Strong knowledge of Oracle database, Storage, and Linux fundamentals.* Knowledge of network fundamentals such as VCN, Ethernet, RoCE, TCP/IP, routing, DHCP etc.* Experience automating management of Linux based infrastructurePreferred Qualifications* Cloud services management, monitoring, troubleshooting and debugging experience* Experience with build automation, continuous integration, or continuous deployment tools* Experience with containerization technologies and modern tools such as Docker, Github, Jira, Swagger, Teamcity, and Bitbucket* Experience with Virtualization Infrastructures such as KVM and Xen* Working experience with ZDLRA, Backup/Recovery and RMANThe groupDatabase Test and Tools development group is a part of the Database Server Technologies division responsible for developing Oracle Autonomous Database Cloud Services, Engineered Systems, and upcoming releases of Oracle Database server, enveloping a wide range of technologies such as RDBMS, XML, Real Application Clusters (RAC), Security, Golden Gate, Advanced Queuing, Automated Storage Management, Backup/Recovery, Query Optimization, Transaction Management, Performance Tuning and High Availability.
