Location: Bangalore. Responsibilities: The job requires conceptualization and management skills to support ATREE s mission to generate knowledge for making a large scale impact on India s environment and development. The job demands a flair for writing, operational skills in design and print production, ability to meet deadlines using internal and external resources, and liaising with a number of stakeholders from donors to government agencies, civil society organizations, academia and the lay public. Reporting to the Director of ATREE, the Communications Manager will: Management: Manage a small team of communications. Chart out and improvise a strategic media and content plan as a living document with an implementation time frame and calendar. Develop a brand management strategy at an institutional level, and provide communications support for effective positioning of the Centers. Handle end- to- end production of all communication material, including institutional brochures, presentations, annual report, etc. Handle event coordination for institutional events and support selected project events, such as workshops and training sessions. Create a system for communications with ATREE s alumni. Content: Oversee content generation in coordination with ATREEs research and outreach teams, including news stories, social media posts, OpEds, films etc. Support the design and delivery of strategic communications documentation and films for ATREE. Plan and manage content for the website; including stories, video and photo essays and coordinate with the website designer/ manager to ensure that it is up to date. Keep abreast of developments relevant to ATREEs vision, strategy and objectives and appropriately use them to frame tasks for the communications team. Create a content management framework for the existing newsletters, journals, and other publications that ATREE generates. Support the Director as needed, including interalia creating systems and methods of continuous improvement of internal communications. Requirements: Graduate degree in Communications / Media / Public Relations / Journalism. At least 5 years of professional experience in the field of media and communications. Exposure to marketing a plus. Knowledge of and experience with media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. Ability to represent the organisation in public and to media outlets. Proficiency in English, extensive experience in copywriting and proofreading within a communications role. Indic multi- lingual proficiency is a plus. Interest in science, environment, development and public policy. Demonstrated ability to organise work, manage time, determine priorities and meet deadlines. Remuneration: will be in accordance with qualifications and experience.
