Consultant-Packet Network Engineering

Job Description

• Test design and execution, logging results in Ethernet and IP area
• Ensures the delivery of the network architecture for datapacket Infrastructure to reduce cost and to increase flexibility for the introduction of new products and services
• Ensures the proper execution of network infrastructure projects.
• Lead the network infrastructure projects end to end and help stake holder for early completion.
• Develops solutions to address a variety of business problems across own area projects Acts a subject matter expert on multiple functional areas related to Data technologies
• Supporting and guiding to other team for quick closer of action towards project and technology.
• Produce documentation or Engineering guides working with senior team members
• Responsible in owningco-owing a technology piece in Layer-2Layer-3 Area
• Interface with Project mgrs. periodically to ensure, the deliverables are defined and met for the assigned project activity.
• Design and development of large DataPacket and Transmission Network in Europe and other places. This network consists variety of large numbers of layer-2 and layer-3 equipment s from multiple vendors make the role interesting and challenging.
• Bringing innovative idea for improvingrousting the current and future design.
• Testing Evaluation Evaluation of new technology and solutions for supporting new and emerging business requirements.
• Implementation of network standards and services architecture in solutions designs
• Evaluation of new systems, platform, technology and features for the introduction into the packet technologies
• Provide all the required documentation, system diagrams, provisioning and troubleshooting guides Supports TAC with vendor escalations Supports and delivers development of network improvements and drives continual improvement Liaison and handover to Service Delivery Responsible to flag any issues (technicalvendorbusiness) to management or stake holders in driving timely resolutions

Key performance indicators (financial and non-financial)

• Deliver network and platform design and develop according to the following key principles: innovative architecture, service flexibility, simplicity and automation, high scalability and utilisation, best-in-class digital experience, lowest unit cost, future proof and longevity
• Reduce service unit cost and deliver the infrastructure Capex efficiency targets List the indicators
• Drive key project activities according to the Colt product and technology development roadmap and deliver the target capability on time, quality and within budget (3-8) that will be used to measure the performance of this role.
• Deliver the end-to-end Architectural Vision that will enable Colt to generate growth, innovate, drive simplification and deliver competitive advantage.
• Reduce overall time to deliver customer solutions and achieve compliance to KPI
• Relationships and key contacts
• Support and guidance to other internal team which include SD, TAC, Ops, Planning, PM, Compliance team plus others for quick closer of action towards project and technology.
• Interface with Project mgs periodically to ensure, the deliverables are defined and met for the assigned project activity.
• Responsible to flag any issues (technicalvendorbusiness) to management or stake holders in driving timely resolutions
• Pro-active in responding to customer needs and requirements.
• Regular interaction with Vendor to get the required fix, Roadmap update and resolution of issue face part of TAT or in the network.

Role specific requirements Skills Experience

• 9-12 years experience in test lab for telecommunications infrastructure.
• Ability to understand and test at the network level is a must. Should be hands on in previouscurrent job.
• Ability to lead the and conclude the technical things with respect to upcoming technologies.
• Domain knowledge, preferably within a telecom company, system integrator, or global telecom product supplier.
• Excellent knowledge and experience of telecom carrier grade products and services and a broad knowledge of the current telecom product offerings across different geographies.
• In depth knowledge of Layer-2 concept and protocols (Carrier EthernetMPLSG.8032) along with basic idea of Layer-3 domain.
• Excellent written, oral and presentation skills able to articulate technical concepts into documentation. Good knowledge on ITU-TGRMEF is an essential.
• Experience in documenting the of highlow level test design, test cases, method of procedure (upgradedowngrade) etc. .is must.
• Experience with SystemNetwork level verification testing with emphasis on Layer-2 for Core Network.
• Experience with service provides either directly or indirectly (through product offering from product companies) is an advantage.
• Experience in reproducing the defects for product vendors is a must. Ability to conduct interworking testing in products in similar area. (across different vendors).
• Experience in evaluating the network performance, its associated parameters is a must; Experience with using traffic generators (Field HH tester(MTTVeEX) Spirent)
