Job Description

What will you do

  • Understanding of product level architecture. Ability to apply Cisco Networking Design standard methodologies in Validation Scenarios.
  • Ability to fix and seek networking problems.
  • Ability to write effective test cases and /or scripts based on customer test environment and requirements.
  • Ability to raise defects, liaison with Dev engineers and drive issues resolution.
  • Be able to review test plans and design changes related to area of responsibility.
  • Apply field concepts to system tests. Have a working knowledge of customer deployments and able to map it to the feature
  • Ability to review and assess project impact of design/requirements changes.
  • Tackle complex, multi-functional issues that cross many technologies in Core and Edge networking
  • Build traffic profiles with 3rdparty test tools such as Ixia or Spirent.
  • Knowledge of Virtualization as it relates to Virtual Network Functions (VNFs)
  • Thorough understanding of Datacenter Architectures
  • Ability to develop Test Scripts using Python.
  • Knowledge of Automation Frameworks (ROBOT, RASTA, PyATS)

  • Proven experience in Installation, Configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco Routers and switches.
  • Experience in product lines like CRS-1, CSP 2100, ENCS 5K, ASR9K, NCS , 7600, ASR1K, Nexus 9K/7K/5K/3K, Cat 6500, 6800 , ACI product lines will be required.
  • Detailed Knowledge on Data Center Architectures like vPC, Fabric Path, OTV, VXLAN, ACI
  • Strong knowledge of one or more routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, Multicast, Security, QoS and VLANs are required.
  • Good Exposure on network troubleshooting as sniffer, ethereal etc are highly desirable. Hands-on with traffic generation tools like Spirent and Ixia is required.
  • Good communication & social skills
  • Strong written, verbal and chalk board skills
  • Strong customer-interaction skills and architectural skills.
  • Consistent track record to document appropriate technical information to serve as base for training, technical operations run books and knowledge objects.
  • Adapts to new situations/priorities (customer) and maintains a balanced and positive outlook
