Cybersecurity Product Security Engineer

DescriptionSeeking a seasoned Product Security Engineer and Technical Consultant to support our growing Micro Focus Cyber Security organization. We are looking for an innovative and motivated security expert who under general direction with a high level of autonomy, uses extensive knowledge and skills to perform the necessary tasks related to the development of secure product solutions and applications that meet the Micro Focus security requirements. The security expert will be required to work in a consulting capacity on multiple products and applications and must have the ability to develop and present secure solutions and architecture to leadership and technical teams. In addition, the Product Security Engineer will be required to evaluate and assess risks imposed by technical solutions and advise product teams of security standards, best practices and technical solutions to address risk. This position will play a lead role in the delivery of product security consultancy services for Micro Focus Cyber Security, maintaining security quality and audience satisfaction. Primary responsibilities of this role are:Partner with product development teams in order to apply security throughout the secure development lifecycle. Review and develop security requirements and architecture and guide product teams to their implementation. Assist with scoping engagements and leading engagements from kickoff through remediationCoordinate efforts of the different product lifecycle security services provided by Cyber SecurityWork closely with the Information Security Risk Management, the business, and technology groupsContinually review and enhance existing knowledge of the security aspects of common product sets and technologies. Provide soft consultancy skills and a proactive approach to earn the trust of our product owners. QualificationsEducation and experienceFirst level university degree or equivalent experience required. Advanced university degree preferred. Typically 12+ years of related work experienceExperience leading security efforts and/ or teams. Knowledge and SkillsStrong technical acumen in securing software and hardware. Experience in assessing and remediating risks for cloud environmentsMaintain ongoing proficiency in network and application exploitation, tools, techniques, countermeasures, and trends in computer network vulnerabilities, network security and encryptionExperience identifying common vulnerabilities in web applications such as OWASP Top 10Strong engineering background preferred. Strong development background in Web and Cloud Technologies preferred. Advanced consulting skills, including coaching, teambuilding, conflict resolution, and management. Advanced project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring. Excellent analytical and problem- solving skills. Advanced communication skills catered to a wide variety of audiences. (e. g. written, verbal, presentation); mastery in English and local languageSuperior business acumen, technical knowledge of multiple business units, and extensive knowledge in applications and technologiesAdvanced multi- tasking and prioritization skillsAdvanced relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting. Scope and ImpactCollaborates across functions to deliver secure software assurance solutions. Typically interacts with high- level Individual Contributors, Managers, Directors, and VPs for internal and external suppliers, partners, and customers. Drives large and complex business initiatives to provide a product in a sound secure position. Leads complex security quality assurance development, support, and improvement activities.
