Job Description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience., Department DescriptionThe Retail Science group within the Oracle Retail Global Business Unit (RGBU aka Oracle Retail) is responsible for applying science to the art of retail. Our team develops new ways to help retailers forecast sales, set prices, plan assortments and categories, and optimize their supply chain execution. Our customers are the major retailers in all market segments and geographies.Additional Details The Data Science Developer works with cross-functional teams responsible for identifying complex data, integration, and application architecture requirements. Once requirements are identified, this person has responsibility to analyze and socialize solution options while ensuring that enterprise data is properly defined, documented, implemented, and governed within the development group. Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain logical and physical data models, application data stores and their interfaces.
• 3-5 years of experience with PL/SQL along with SQL tuning experience

• Engage teams to create and propose technology strategy, designs, standards, and solutions with high impact to business and its customers Plays an integral role in building and enhancing the infrastructure required to support business needs, in terms of robustness, scalability, availability and efficiency.
• Accountable for governance, consistency, accuracy, security, process, integrity and quality of all important enterprise data.
• Work effectively with Tech leads, Software Engineers, and Database Administrators to create and maintain the overall data architecture, priorities and success measures for the enterprise
• Create data models, and create Object/Relational models to support serialization to the database.
• Identify & address application data issues that affect application integrity
• Communicate, educate and ensure adherence to sound data management principles and where possible, the re-use of data as well creating and managing meta-data and business rules for the use of data.
• Owns project development estimates and timelines.
• Ensure that the database design fulfills functional & technical requirements, including design-for-performance
• Review the deliverables throughout development to ensure quality & traceability to requirements and adherence to all quality management plans & standards

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent years of experience in related field.
• 5+ years in a developing, modeling, and deploying enterprise solutions, Retail/SCM experience preferred
• Experienced with the analysis of business processes, workflow, data mapping and cross-data integration of non-generic application platforms
• Experience working with very large data volumes, ETL and ROLAP or OLAP data modeling methodology is critical.
• Experience with creating a scalable and performing solution with large data volumes in the Oracle Db or in an java application server.
• Experience with parallel programming techniques could be useful.
• Able to balance and prioritize multiple concurrent projects effectively.
• Possesses strong leadership skills and is experienced driving to solutions in a team environment.
• Aptitude for generating innovative solutions and has a bias toward action. Self-motivated, responsible, and accountable
• Ability to work with subject matter experts, software engineers and testers to gather and clarify requirements
• Excellent analytical, writing, time management and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate conceptual and technical architecture design both orally and in writing
