SUMMARY OF POSITION AND OBJECTIVES:
Deployment Support Engineer is responsible for providing deployment support for Applications and maintaining IT services and applications (e.g.: servers, in house developed application, 3rd party applications, monitoring, etc.) in collaboration with other IT teams and according to defined processes (e.g. Incident Management and Change Management).
POSITION & OBJECTIVES :
IIS expertise - Deployment support Engineer should have proficiency with Microsoft IIS, and in general they must have working knowledge of firewalls, servers, networks, and operating systems.
Troubleshooting - It is important for Deployment support Engineer to be excellent problem-solvers who can determine post deployment issues and provide quick solutions.
Attention to detail - when providing deployment support, engineers must ensure that all details are correct, from configuration settings to processes followed in order to avoid malfunctions and security breaches.
Customer service - Deployment support Engineer must possess a strong customer orientation, since they provide technical support as requested and explain Infrastructure issues to Application teams in simple terms.
Technical writing - Deployment support Engineer must be comfortable with technical writing if they are to produce documentation and SOP s related to deployment support.

Technical Skills:
Intermediate to Expert level working knowledge in IIS 7.0/7.5/8/8.5/10.0
Experience in Configuration of Bindings, Website Creation/Deletion
Experience in Backup of Website/Configuration
Working knowledge of App Pools, Virtual Directory, Worker Process
Working knowledge of SSL, Access Control, Authentication, Implementing Security
IIS Logs Analysis, Failed Request Tracing and Performance Tuning
Understanding of ASP.NET application deployment and troubleshooting is required
Understanding of .Net Framework
Knowledge on Load balancers
Support/administration experience in MS SQL Server
Experience in Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 administration and troubleshooting
Working knowledge of DNS
Working knowledge of PowerShell, Chef and Puppet
ITIL process awareness (Change/Incident/Problem) - foundation certification preferred
Rotational On-Call
Weekend deployment support
Personal skills:
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
