*External Role Title: Design ConsultantPrimary Skills: Enterprise Network Design, Low Level Design, LAN, WAN Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering connectivity / LAN& WAN / Global IP VPN solutions, preferably gained in a large enterprise, multi-country and multi-product environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills confidence and professionalism both in working with multinational project teams and with clients on various levels of the organization, from technical audiences to senior management Analytical and critical thinking; innovative problem solving capability for complex customer requirementsSelf-starter with a clear can-do mentality, ability to work under pressure from both customersand internal stakeholders and produces solution designs thatare deliverable, strong commercial acumen.Highlight accountabilities and KPIs for the requisitioned role, which could include (but not limited to) Typical outputs (Key deliverables & KPIs expected from the role holder) Impact on Business (How would the role holder impact/scale of influence Business decisions strategic/operational) Interfaces with Customers, Suppliers & Third parties (Internal and external stakeholder interactions expected of this role ) Leadership & Teamwork (Leadership Direction andaccountabilities towards the Team) Innovation & Change (Expectations from this role in driving innovation and change) Others Delivery of complex solution design to time, costand qualityPerformance of approved solutionCustomer satisfactionProvide technical advice & support for complex customer requirements during (Pre and Post) Sales Phaseo Engage withcustomers to understand technical requirements and underlying business drivers, supporting the Sales team and High-Level Solution designerso Undertake feasibility checks and design activity to validate solution deliveryo Recommend innovative, optimum solutions with a maximum level of simplicity thatmeet customer requirementso Consolidate resource and cost estimates for technical solution designo Sign-off High-Level Design developed by Solution Architects in Enterprise Sales / VGEDevelopdetailed technical design that will deliver optimum solution for complex customer requirements and produce appropriate design documentso Lead detailed design and system integration workshopso Produce design statement of work, incl. third party deliverableso Complete the detailed solution design in accordance with Vodafone s design methodology, ensuring compliance of third party design deliverables; coordinating local technical solution architects, network engineers, operations and external partners across various marketso Develop implementation and migration concepto Ensure E2E solution design incl. ability to manage solution in lifecycle (moves, changes, e.g. capacity increases)o Develop operating concept for final approval and execution by responsible departmentsCoordinate technical implementation and take full responsibility for the success of technical componentsof international delivery projects, delivering a differentiated customer experienceo Providedemos and proof of concepts for customers, as requiredo Configure & manage test environmentso Manage the configuration, installation and testing of data serviceso Closely work with third parties as well as local Technical Solution Architects (from localTES) and local Network Engineers from various marketso Manage external interfaces during build phase, e.g., with solution providers (Cisco, Alcatel, NCR, Dimension Data, etc.) for resolutionof technical issueso Take Readyfor Integration (RfI) decisiono Gain technical sign-off from customerEstablish professional relationships with key stakeholders and manage interfaces effectivelyo Build professional working relationships with customers, third parties and within Vodafone on various levelsof the organisationo Coach and support team memberso Regularly report design / delivery status into Project Manager and effectively manage design risks and issuesMaintainrequired technical knowledge up-to-date and drive innovationo Maintains industry-recognised certification for networking and/or security technologies (e.g. Cisco)o Keeps current on industry best practiceso Maintain working knowledge ofall technologies used within Vodafone and ensure ability to clearly articulate the business benefits of solution portfolioo Maintain in-depth technical knowledge of core technologies embedded within solution (e.g. IP networking, SSLVPN, firewalls, anti-virus, encryption, etc.)Identify new opportunities that can be taken to market based on observations during customer engagementsNIL, *Engineering Graduate or EquivalentCCNP/CCDP level certification prefered
