Design Engineer Specialist OSS Fulfilment Solution Designer Our purpose is to use the power of communications to make a better world. Why this role matters Accountable for the Solution Design and Architecture and support the execution/implementation of the Next Generation Network OSS Fulfilment solution architecture in the areas of IP, MPLS, Access, Transmission, 4G & 5G (RAN, EPC, IMS) network, SDN/NFV, Service Orchestration, NFV Orchestration, Resource planning, Network Capacity Management, Network Optimisation etc. What youll be doing The role is focused on best practices, technology, and delivering business value through high quality software. The role holder shall possess good knowledge of IP, MPLS, Access, Transmission, 4G & 5G (RAN, EPC, IMS) network, services & devices and SDN, NFV, ETSI MANO/OSM, OASIS TOSCA/YAML, TM Forum SID & eTOM, IETF YANG, NetConf / RESTconf and related technologies/standards.The role holder will closely work with Network counterparts to come up with agile planning and design process which helps BT deliver quickest way to expand the network capacity. Also, the role holder plays an important role in helping network designers, planners & operations teams embark into NetOps, SDN/NFV, and design and deliver agile OSS fulfilment solutions for hybrid network (PNF/VNF).The role holder meets business objectives, solves business problems and furthers business success by applying industry, applications and technical knowledge through the definition of high level solutions. Well also need to see these on your CV Good understanding of Network OSS Plan & Build and fulfilment domain, specifically1) Hybrid multi technology Service & Resource Orchestration, Service Design & Assign,2) Logical & Physical Resource Plan & Build and Inventory management of NetworksGood understanding of IP/MPLS, Access, Transmission, and mobility networks (4G, 5G, RAN, EPC, IMS), protocols and configuration including a good appreciation of SDN and NFV concepts.Good understanding of inventory systems and functions, process, technical capability and good idea of their transformation for SDN and NFV based network management.At least 5 years of working experience as solution designer and experience of designing and writing functional specification, system & interface specification, HLD and Detailed design (covering technical implementation).G ood knowledge of network devices from Nokia, Ericsson, Adva, Cisco, Juniper, Huawei etc.Good understanding of how OSS and BSS should interwork to support digital transformation and transformation in the Customer user experience.Good understanding of Micro Services architectural concepts.Good understanding/experience of Telecom Standards such as TM Forum eTOM, SID, ETSI MANO, IETF YANG.Must have solid hands-on software development experience using Java / Open source technology of at least 6 years. Prior technical hands on experience is must to write detailed technical implementation specifications.
