We need you to help us do this.Why this role mattersWorking directly to the Software Engineering Manager, this role holder will be fully responsible for world class customer experience of openreach hub applications.What youll be doing

• Ownership and full accountability for complex and business critical system, including approving any change to the test and production estate
• Partnering with stakeholders to create the foundations of the project in order to lead them through an agile transformation
• Coaching and enabling delivery teams on modern application design and development practices
• Delivery of software to production to cost, agreed timeframe and with desired quality for an application across multiple lines of business
• Establish and maintain exceptional communications with The Customer(s) and major Stakeholder(s) at all times
• Drive DevOps and Agile projects.
• Reduction of internal and E2E defects release on release, ensuring all QC s are dealt with in a timely manner, with full Root Cause Analysis with Prevention measures in place.
• Driving for System Rationalization to drive down Development, ASG and Operating costs
• To provide innovative ideas to senior managers on potential areas for BT improvement
• Drive financial governance seeking to prevent working at risk and ensure cost efficiencies are realized e.g. use of function points.
• To use the relevant BT wide professional community framework to raise their skills and those of their team to the recommended PC standards.
• Maintains a reputation for quality and delivery of their expertise to the business.
• Contributes to the definition of strategy and evolution and/ or associated infrastructure investments for Group/ LoB.
• Responsible for engineering delivery plans for programmes.
• Contributes to the transformation strategy for a network, platform or technology discipline in own area of expertise.
• Leads and mentors team(s) to provide professional solutions to new innovative services.

• Should have worked on Oracle Hub, Oracle SOA & BPEL, Apigee, WSO2 WebLogic, UNIX/Linux, MQ, JMS, Oracle Database & SQL areas.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills; public speaking skills and ability to present in front of customers
• Comfortable with ambiguity and facilitating discussions to explore best possible solutions
• Ability to lead with imagination, courage, and curiosity
• Should be able to code in the technologies and provide technical leadership to the teams on the ground as required.

• Should have at least worked on preparation of design (architecting) for at least one system developed from scratch.
• Using OOAD with UML, Rational Software Architect and Microsoft Visio for visual modeling and component construction of enterprise-level software applications.
• Should possess strong knowledge on Agile methodologies & overall on SDLC.
• Likely to be BE/BTech/ME/MTech qualification.
• Likely to have a degree qualification (engineering/science) or has served a technical apprenticeship and/or obtained NVQ and/or further education technical qualifications (i.e. HND).
• Proven track record in reduction of Production Issues and reducing manual ASG effort.
• Experienced and fully competent in own delivery area.
• Provide professional advice, guidance and opinion to business partners and stakeholders including the operations and support communities.
• Knowledge of agile methodology.
• Ability to have the robust/difficult conversations with customer, third party suppliers and stakeholders
• Acts as a key contributor in a complex/ critical environment.
• Has in-depth knowledge and expertise in several of the OSS
• Have a detailed understanding of process/procedures for interacting with end customers in the form of Text, Email and Letter
• Fully competent in Storm and QC Tool,
• Experience of decommissioning IT systems
• Manages own time to meet agreed targets.
• Develops plans for projects in own area over the medium/ long term, including forecasting/ organising all resource requirements and finance.
• Able to explain difficult concepts to a variety of audiences and to ensure that the meaning is understood.
• Creates informal networks with key contacts outside own area.
• Has a comprehensive understanding of professional communities relevant to the LOB and uses the PC development framework to maximise the potential of themselves, their team and the wider BT team.
