Strong background in Windows/ Linux/ Unix AdministrationExperience with automation/ configuration managementAbility to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is mandatory) Strong experience with SQL and MySQL (NoSQL experience is a plus) A working understanding of code and script (Python/ PHP) Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always- up, always- available serviceDevelop, modify, support and maintain AWS- based components for public facing infrastructure, application back- end, and admin and monitoring features.Maximum utilisation of AWS components - we anticipate using nearly every service component available from AWS.Create, maintain, and enhance the following: test, validation, and logging infrastructure for our AWS components.Collaborate with other engineers (iOS, Android, Windows, Web, DB) to engineer creative solutions to unique challenges.Prepare periodic reports on engineering activities, for the purposes of project management and resource planning.Continuously work to improve product, process, and tools proficiency, for the purposes of company growth, user experience, and timely product delivery.Periodically meet with third party development and content partners, in order to maintain close collaborative relationships and resolve integration challenges.Requirements: The desired engineer will have BSE/ BA from 4 year college or university, at least 3- 5 years of infrastructure development experience and/ or training, along with: 3 years of AWS experience.3- 5 years of general DevOps/ WS/ DB/ infrastructure experience.Practical experience with most if not all components of AWS: EC2, Beanstalk, ELB, Route53, S3, Cloudfront, SNS, SWF, SQS, RDS, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, IAM, CloudFormation.Familiarity with SOA principles and practice.Experience reading, analyzing, and absorbing AWS white papers, architectural documents, and technical briefs.Service rollout plus complete multi- cycle SDLC experience, using Chef, Puppet, CloudFormation, etc.Hands- on experience with monitoring tools, intrusion detection mechanisms, and vulnerability assessment tools and practices.General scripting wizardry.Self- motivated team player who demonstrates initiative and flexibility.Strong organisational skills, with the ability to handle and prioritise multiple tasks.,
