Job Description

You enjoy helping a motivated team to navigate a rapidly-changing environment and solving the problems and challenges that it presents.What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for We need someone who can partner closely with other engineering and product management teams to design, develop, and deliver high-quality software supporting a centralized provisioning automation platform. In this role, you will be providing technical leadership to resolve issues, solve complex technical and business requirements, and driving overall product direction to support a smooth customer onboarding experience.What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing

  • You will have to be the expert on the suite of software products created by the End User Computing (EUC) Backoffice Technology team to help drive decision-making for the benefit of all teams.
  • You will have to build relationships and collaborate with the product management and engineering teams for one or more products outside of the EUC Backoffice Technology team.
  • You will have to establish a reputation of leadership within the team and demonstrate influence within the functions provided by the team.
  • You will contribute to the codebase and development strategy across the team s full suite of applications, both through code review and development contribution.
What type of work will you be doing What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis As a leader on the EUC Backoffice Technology team, you will:
  • You will design software, assist with technology selection, lead engineering programs, perform code reviews, and write code.
  • You will have hands on experience in building production ready software using C# .NET and/or Java
  • You will work with the product management and engineering teams for various products within End User Computing to understand their technology and create integration strategies.
  • You will implement and improve team processes around DevOps, Agile, and CI/CD
  • You will be a thought-leader on RESTful API design, including API versioning, backwards compatibility, authentication and rate limiting.
  • You will contribute to technology stack analysis for the suite of EUC Backoffice Technology applications to drive the decision-making process for new and existing components.

Jonathan joined VMware as part of the acquisition of AirWatch in 2014 where he had previously led the provisioning automation teams starting in 2006.Jonathan currently leads our EUC Backoffice Technology Engineering team which currently consists of 7 engineers.
