Job Description

Qualifications

  • Significant proven experience in comparable role within an international company;
  • In-depth knowledge of various flavors of Linux and Unix operating systems;
  • Knowledge of hardware x86 platform and IBM power;
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Shell, Python) and methodology;
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, global environment and communication;
  • Team player, positive attitude, good communicator, friendly personality able to work in a multicultural environment;
  • Able to work individually, organize and manage own tasks;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • Able to analyze problems, issues needs and provide input to Eurofins build to create robust but adaptable solutions which meet current and future requirements;
  • The ability to handle objections and resistance to change;
  • Ability to cope with changing environment including adapting to meet emergency business critical events;
  • Effectively plans and organize own workload;
  • Self-motivated;
  • Capable of working under pressure/using own initiative with minimal supervision;
  • Team player, who contributes ideas and suggestions for improvement;
  • Happy to challenge existing processes and procedures;
  • Exposure to running projects effectively is essential;
  • Experience of ITIL, especially Incident and change management;
  • Experience of NetApp is desirable;
  • Experience of VMWare is desirable.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience of working in an Enterprise environment and supplier management against SLAs, monitoring change and release performance against service level agreements, participating in effective working relationships to deliver continuous improvement;
  • Deep skills in the majority of Linux flavours;
  • Experience of working in a secure environment;
  • Understanding of the legal issues relating to IS/IT e.g. Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Computer Misuse Acts, copyright, intellectual property rights;
  • Experience of building strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders;
  • Strong customer focus;
  • Good communication and negotiation skills;
  • Positive can do attitude and flexibility of approach;
  • Professional qualification or equivalent experience in an Information technology related subject and project management;
  • ITILv3/v4 Foundation qualified;
  • Well versant with IT Infra technology (understanding of networks, monitoring, DBMS, Windows, firewalls etc.;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.);
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English with neutral accent.

AIX:-

Exposure to IBM Power series hardware and other models (Ex: Blade chassis and Blade centers)

Hands on working experience on AIX (6.x and 7.x Versions) administration (Good to have active experience)

Exposure to Hardware consoles (HMC and IBM directors)

Demonstrated Experience in handling day-to-day UNIX-AIX operating system installation, migration and break-fix support.

Tuning and troubleshooting experience over IBM hardware s

Experience in risk based systems running on UNIX / AIX platforms

Moderate exposure to other AIX technologies (LPAR, VIO, NIO and HACMP) Not mandate
