Job Description

  • Reporting to Vice President the Senior Manager of GAAP and Process Expert will provide leadership and guidance in the application of accounting principles with our client engagements. This role will also ensure compliance with documented accounting policies and procedures within our client engagements. Finally, this role will manage the companys risk in the application of accounting principles within our client engagements.
  • This is a highly visible role with a lot of opportunity to see the big picture and interact with delivery teams and their clients Should have a solid understanding of technical accounting, SOX compliance, financial statement reporting as well as understanding of a complex multi-level consolidating close process.
  • 6+ yrs of SOX Compliance. Must be handling SOX Compliance in the current role
  • Excellent oral & written communication
  • Variety of large, complex and small, growing clients; experience with software and services companies
  • Experience serving US-based companies
  • Experience in assessing and resolving complex technical accounting issues
  • Maintain relationships with audit firms that serve our clients.
  • Audit application of accounting policies within our client engagements.
  • Review client financings and purchase transactions and recommend the proper accounting treatment.
  • Support development and implementation of revenue recognition policies and procedures where we perform contract review.
  • Experience in assessing and resolving complex technical accounting issues
Scope of responsibility
  • Develop and maintain a library of standard accounting policies based on GAAP pronouncements, understanding key IFRS differences.
  • Review and approve new client accounting policies.
  • Review and approve client accounting policy changes.
  • Drive and monitor accounting policy updates based on changes in pronouncements.
  • Develop and communicate viewpoints on the application of accounting policies.
  • Maintain relationships with audit firms that serve our clients.
  • Audit application of accounting policies within our client engagements.
  • Review client financings and purchase transactions and recommend the proper accounting treatment.
  • Support development and implementation of revenue recognition policies and procedures where we perform contract review.
  • Develop and provide regular training to staff on accounting principles.
  • Participate in client meetings and audits as required to support and defend our accounting policies and procedures as well as resolve differences in interpretation.
  • Answer questions from delivery teams regarding accounting policies and principles.
  • Hire and manage staff as needed to support compliance efforts.
  • Have in-depth understanding of Equity Accounting and apply to client engagements as required.
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS regulations
  • Experience with international consolidations, US GAAP reconciliations and translations
Experience with statutory reporting
