Job Description

As a Software Delivery Engineering Director, you will build be responsible for building a high performing diverse team and will prioritize and manage implementation of solutions for all software delivery lifecycle aspects with a priority for Continuous Delivery and automation. This includes analysis of current solutions for improvement, development and adoption of best practices for software delivery and collaboration with product development as well as enterprise teams. The clear goal for the team is to create engineering solutions for fully automated software delivery. This starts from post development stages like Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery but also includes regular horizontal release activities like environment rebuilds and the associated deployments.You ll help build a meaningful engineering discipline, combining software and systems to develop creative engineering solutions to operations problems. Much of our support and software development focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure and reducing work through automation. In addition you will have the responsibility to review designs and approaches taken by Corporate Technology solutions and contribute into those through systems design and engineering solutions. In this environment, you ll take the lead on relevant projects, supported by an organization that provides the support and mentor-ship you need to learn and grow.You will oversee activities of Delivery Engineering team members as applicable and provide individuals with constructive feedback as it pertains to team performance; coach staff in technical matters and delivering on other job-related responsibilities. As a leader of organizational, operational and technological change, youll build partnerships with business groups and technology teams across the firm. Youll also help manage a high-performing team technologists from multiple job families who share your passion for technology and innovation Responsibilities:
1. Build and Manage Delivery Engineering team and provide leadership and direction to the team
2. Provide thought leadership and advisory services for building automation solutions for software delivery
3. Coordinate and build relationships with Product development teams to drive adoption of best practices and to gather and analyze requirements for enterprise tools
4. Work with Product Development leadership throughout the software delivery lifecycle ensuring sustainable software releases
5. Coordinate and collaborate with enterprise delivery framework teams to absorb and prioritize backlog based on appropriate product team requirements
6. Build solutions for automation of software delivery
7. Collaborate with and contribute into Corporate Technology solutions in Systems Design as well as engineering solutions.
Qualifications:
• BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field of study/equivalent experience. Graduate level engineering degree preferred
• Expertise in people leadership, Technological, Organizational and/or Operational Change Management; Portfolio Management; Conflict Resolution; Negotiation; Controls; and Partnership and Influence
• In-depth knowledge of Software Delivery
• Strategic planning (e.g., roadmap creation and execution), complex problem solving, navigating a large organization, excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary
• Strong inter-personal skills and ability to cultivate relationships with all internal/external stakeholders, promoting diversity of perspectives, ideas and cultures
• Experience in large-scale software development in one or more programming language is required
• 15+ years of professional experience in software development, test automation in engineering space; Exposure and knowledge with automation and/or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies is desirable
• Keen interest in and understanding of the application release lifecycle including dependency management and the impact of manual dependencies in the process. Exposure to Continuous Delivery tools like Spinnaker and Argo would be an advantage
• Proven experience leading agile delivery teams, team building, team management and providing leadership and guiding team to meet the expectations
• Experience with cloud-based applications, technologies and tools, deployment, monitoring and operations.
• Systematic, fact based decision making and problem solving.
• Ability to clearly articulate ideas, problem/solution/business value descriptions that can be understood by a broad audience in a time sensitive environment.
