Job Description

Responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting and year end audit and tax preparation.Skills: Essential Knowledge: IFRS and Local GAAPs Competencies: Very good knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word. High level of verbal and written communication skills. High level of interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills are required.Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.Experience & Qualification: Bachelor Degree in Accounting. 3 years experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area. Work experience in an audit firm is preferred. CPA/CMA/CA is preferred.Main Responsibilities and Duties:Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.Work with the Financial Controller to ensure a clean and timely year end audit.Handle all sub-ledger modules in ERP (such as Payables, Fixed Assets) and ensure consistency with General ledger.Ensure all taxation and legislative requirements are complied with at all times.Ensure that revenue is allocated correctly, taking corrective action where inconsistencies arise.Track and monitor revenue for accuracy, verifying it against sub ledger report on a monthly basis.Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.Be ready to handle additional responsibilities as and when needed by the department/division/business.Responsible for the security, Confidentiality & Integrity, of all information assets within his responsibilities in accordance with the company s Information Security Policies. Adhere to prevailing Eka s ISMS policies and procedures while delivering the duties Very good knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word.,
