Functional Engineer - TPM Job DescriptionThe Functional Engineer will be part of the team implementing solutions for Trade Promotion Management and/or Revenue Management. This role is viewed as a subject matter expert in all areas of TPM encompassing business process understanding and platform exposure.The role collaborates with Senior Functional Engineers and business/functional subject matter experts as well as Solution Engineers, Enterprise Architects and Analytics Designers.Demonstrates sound fundamentals and expertise in design, development, deployment, and maintenance of TPM solutions which are developed either as green field applications or in implementation of package solutions.Scope/CategoriesThe role will report to the Global Platform Product Manager for TPM. The role will not have any direct reports.Key Interfaces: Regional Business Partners, Regional Business SMEs, Functional Consultants, Solution Engineers, Enterprise Architects, Data & Analytics team, and Project Managers.External Interfaces: Consultants, 3rd Party providers. Travel may include approximately 15% of work time.The scope is Global with all KC categories for the sales and TPM / RGM functions.Key Accountabilities

• Senior Functional resource for the program for Implementation of TPM and CBP in EMEA to begin with other regions likely to follow.
• Takes ownership of requirements gathering and analysis, design, configuration, customization, testing, deployment, and support for TPM solutions.
• Assist senior functional engineers and product manager in conducting process definition and solution workshops with business teams. Help in preparatory work for such workshops including presentations, process flows and business scenarios.
• Gather, Analyze and document functional and non-functional requirements using industry standard templates and processes. Documenting requirements via use cases, user stories and Business requirement documents.
• Prepare process flow diagrams to document business processes and articulate accompanying commentary which goes into business requirement documents.
• Work with other teams to prepare Integration specifications for manual or automated interfaces and achieve consensus with respective teams.
• Capture nonfunctional requirements by collaborating with solution engineers, architects, and other technical team members.
• Prepare functional test scenarios and system test cases corresponding to the business process and which form the basis for detailed test cases.
• Work closely with the technical team during design and build to provide functional inputs and clarifications. Update functional documentation as and when required during the life cycle.
• Carry out functional testing for the solution based on designed test scenarios and cases and coordinate with development team to get bugs fixed. Document identified enhancements with proper classification for subsequent solution versions.
• Review requirements documented by other functional engineers and ensure required quality is maintained in terms of coverage, completeness, and articulation of requirements.
• Mentor and groom junior functional resources in TPM and as functional consultants in general.
• Prescriptive problem solving with the business by providing options and recommendations to help make the right business decisions
• Translates non-functional and functional requirements into end-to-end trade promotion management solution which integrates effectively with other areas like SAP ECC SD / Pricing / FICO, Demand Planning, Infrastructure, Platform, Security & audit / Controls
• Guide external vendor partners on the review and resolution of operations and break fix incidents.
• Manage user acceptance testing by providing relevant support to business teams in executing test scenarios, capturing test results, and preparing progress reports.
• Preparation of super user and end user training material; be it presentations or training videos. Conduct training sessions for end users.
• Provide hyper care support post go live in a market along with other functional engineers and technical consultants. Follow appropriate processes laid down.
• Understand, internalize, and put into practice the defined ways of working, processes.
• Help in maintaining enhancement request and their lifecycle via the defined change management process.
• Prepare impact analysis documents for enhancements and assist technical team in coming up with technical impact assessment.
• Update requirements documentation for enhancements and author new documents if required.
• Maintain traceability matrix for requirements by coordinating with technical and testing teams and ensure its always updated.

Qualifications and Experiences

• Bachelors degree; 7 years of continuous experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Consultant in with at least 5 years experience only in TPM (strong preference for SAP TPM / CBP)
• Brings Trade Management expertise (SAP TPM, CBP, CRM, ECC, BW, IMP /PAK) expertise to the team
• Involvement in at least one implementation of SAP TPM CBP is an absolute must
• Must have prior experience in functionally designing and building an SAP TPM solution and integration with ERP & Demand Planning. Brings experience of configuration for spend, promotion types & their impact on overall design
• Must have end-to-end knowledge of customer planning and Trade promotion management processes including integration with SAP ERP and Demand planning and strong knowledge of underlying architecture of SAP TPM and CBP
• Experience in complex SAP environments, including integrations w/ SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA
• Strong CPG background is desired (at industry or as consultant).
• Hands-on delivery experience in Trade Promotion Management (TPM), Trade Promotion Optimization (TPO), Revenue Management (RM) and related Analytics, and Pricing/Price optimization.
• Experience in IT projects and/or programs with strong full life cycle using multiple methodologies including in SAP TPM/CBP
• Ability to operate in a digital workplace utilizing modern technologies to connect, collaborate, communicate, and co-operate across a global organization and across organizational boundaries.
• Experience in IT projects and/or programs with strong SDLC experience including Agile/Waterfall methodologies. Exposure to Agile fundamentals and able to lead key ceremonies. Act as Scrum Master or Product Owner for a team, following all standard work practices.
• Strong fundamentals in requirements elicitation, gathering, analysis and documentation for IT projects.
• Experience in framing nonfunctional requirements for IT solutions.
• Exposure to IT solutions which have manual or automated interfaces with other systems to exchange data. Have good conceptual understanding of interfaces, uploads, and middleware.
• Strong experience in designing test scenarios based on business processes and functional requirements
• Hand on experience of system testing, integration testing and manual performance testing
• Understands how to coordinate the flow of work between agile teams and more traditional project-based teams.
• Self-motivated to keep up with industry trends and disseminating information across the organization.
• Experience working with blended teams consisting of employees, vendors, and consultants with both onshore and offshore resources.
• Verbal and written fluency in English is mandatory. Ability to work in a virtual team which may work across distance (remote), cultures and time zones, in a matrix with multiple reporting lines.
