Janaagraha is a Bengaluru based not for profit working on transforming the quality of life in Urban India with a focus on the quality of infrastructure and services the quality of citizenship. Janaagrahas program which anchors our citizenship initiatives is called l I Change My City. I Change My City is a pioneering movement for citizen participation in Indias cities (www.ichangemycity.com)
We are looking for a highly passionate individual to champion the causes of citizen participation, civic volunteering and civic leadership amongst citizens in Indias cities.
S/he will live the values of citizenship and civic leadership, lead the strategy and implementation of I Change My City engagements across states cities (and across civic learning and civic participation programs), conceive and manage strategic partnerships, anchor fund raising for these programs and lead the team to deliver through excellent project management and communications.
What does it take to be Head Citizenship Programs unlimited passion for transforming our cities over the long - term, particularly in the areas of citizen participation in neighbourhoods and civic leadership deep domain experience in communications and marketing, large - scale campaigns experience and ability to lead teams and work closely with a multi - disciplinary team that includes coders, community mobilisers, data analysts and communication content resources excellent project management capabilities with a sharp focus on delivery and execution strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to engage with external stakeholders like civil society, government and donors , and internally work with the CEO and Executive Committee the nuance to identify partnership opportunities and the perseverance to convert, nurture and scale them skills to nurture and grow talent, and invest in their leadership capabilities What will the Head Citizenship Programs really do gain a deep understanding of the principles, philosophy and nuances of citizen participation in relation to the products, platforms and tools we have built strengthen program strategy and the medium to long term project plans and outcomes in discussions with the team and the management conceive and run campaigns across communication and engagement channels on contemporary themes to accomplish the mission of Janaagrahas citizenship programs manage the senior resources anchoring the community engagement and civic technology strands assess all work strands and determine RoI and priorities to ensure greater focus on delivery by the team draw up detailed campaign and project plans and instil strong review and course correction mechanisms with senior resources in the team in close coordination with the Development team continually review and maintain oversight on budgets and funding gaps and plans to raise additional resources ensure timely donor reporting, and communications internally and to donors meet with senior leaders in civil society, industry, academia and governments with partnership proposals be a spokesperson for civic participation at convenings of corporate employees, college youth and neighbourhood communities and other foraQualifications and Experience
A degree in Management, Technology or Finance with deep domain experience in communications, consumer technology, and/or marketing and with sufficient senior management experience in a 15 - 20 year career
