Head of Data Science, Managing Director Join us as Head of Data Science Join our senior leadership team in Data Science & Innovation (DS&I) within Data & Analytics Create whats next by developing new data products, leveraging the banks data assets, while shaping how the bank works by helping embed data-driven thinking and ways of working Its a great opportunity to make a real impact solving the most complex business problems using advanced data science techniques Were offering this role at managing director level What youll do As Head of Data Science, youll solve the most complex business problems, driving 6x ROI using data science methods and tools, while leveraging a team of data scientists and engineers. Youll be the Product Owner of the bank-wide data science platform and tools, driving adoption and usage, including these platforms across India, as well as the Chief Digital and Information Office, and business teams. Alongside this, youll lead and grow the banks Data Science Community of Practice and ensure a steady flow of data talent into the bank. Youll own and drive a leading-edge data research agenda, developing new intellectual property and publishing peer-reviewed papers. Youll lead the India team of DS&I data scientists and engineers to explore and demonstrate how new techniques can be applied to data. Well look to you to create value across the business through transformational projects, while delivering prioritised use cases and working closely with stakeholders. Moreover, youll create academic and industry networks to support our influence, acting as the banks technical data science expert in India at industry forums and conferences as required. In addition, youll be: Leading the India-focused education, selling and embedding developments in data science across the bank Leading the India Data Science Community Of Practice, driving the identification and delivery of opportunities to support the banks strategic direction through better use of data Acting as the pastoral lead for all DS&I resources in India Leading the Indian data science research and experimentation agenda to deepen the banks understanding of leading-edge analytical techniques, technologies, and tools Building the banks brand in global data science communities to drive a constant inflow of new talent into the bank The skills youll need Were looking for someone with deep experience of deploying data science techniques in industry, including the pragmatic implementation of AI solutions such as machine learning and generative AI, to drive transformational value. Youll bring the ability to work with and influence business stakeholders and data science peers alike, using a combination of technical expertise and storytelling skills where appropriate. To succeed in this role, youll need a broad and deep understanding of banking across all franchises and functions, from both a business and data perspective.
