Job Description

    Short DescriptionHead of Engineering will oversee the development of software across one or multiple layers of the stack including firmware, drivers, operating systems, software applications and tools, infrastructure, and platforms, while helping to drive the team technically in areas of software architecture, implementation and validation. It also involves project coordination and leading technical discussions.Key Responsibilities
    • Responsible for defining all aspects of platform architecture, design standards and clearly understand and defend trade-offs made.
    • Direct and manage a team of software engineers and architects responsible for the development and/or validation of software and technology over multiple areas of the software lifecycle, including design, development, validation, debug, optimization, customer engagement, and/or product support.
    • Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies and end user requirements; researching information security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; studying architecture/platform and identifying integration issues.
    • Set priorities for the team and manage performance.
    • Participate in day to day coding, design discussion and product development
    • Grow the team by actively engaging in sourcing, interviewing and closing candidates
    • Lead conversation with business stakeholders to collect requirements and provide solutions

    • Full stack development experience and must be familiar with at least one of the technical stacks: embedded, mobile, frontend, backend, testing, web and/or site reliability engineering
    • Hands-on experience in designing/architecting and developing applications on service-oriented architecture (SOA), MicroServices and experience designing and implementing APIs, including deep understanding of REST, SOAP, HTTP etc.
    • Advance knowledge and hands-on experience in (one of following two)
      • 1. embedded Electronics, Microcontrollers, Embedded C/C++, compilers, and developer environment (for EV development roles) OR
      • 2. Microsoft technologies (.NET, C#, ASP.NET) OR JAVA/J2EE OR Python OR C/C++/GoLang
      • OR Front end development (jQuery, Angular, React) OR Mobile Development (iOS, Android, Flutter) and good working knowledge of open source tools and technologies, web application servers, web services, database design and programming (Platform / Business Applications)
    • Hands-on and able to provide technical contribution/development in day to day work
    • Strong experience handling large data (batch and real-time), workflows and scheduling, building pluggable frameworks and systems, strong abstraction, and design skills. Good understanding and hands-on exposure with MySQL, Hadoop, Mongo, Kafka, Redis or similar technologies / tools
    • Strong knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle, Quality assurance, Software release procedures and capability models such as CMMI or similar
    • Experience on tools for Requirements management and Change management. Experience with CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins, Github, Artifactory, Sonar etc.
    • Experience in public cloud and cloud-native technologies. E.g. AWS, GCP, Azure. Knowledge of container based technologies like Docker, Swarm, and Kubernetes.
    • Security such as LTPA, Basic Auth, OAuth, JWT
    • Experienced with Data Integration with databases/API s & Microservices
    • Experience in working on large scale systems
    • Product development experience in automotive / IoT industry a plus
