Job Position Description: The Network Automation Professional Services team in Nokia s Network Infrastructure business unit is looking for an experienced Software Project Manager to lead the delivery of network automation projects to a global set of clients. We are in the automation business. Things change fast. We move quickly. Our job is to make things better, faster, and more reliable through the creation of software automation solutions for our partners and customers. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of key network automation software projects; spanning supporting pre-sales activities through to development, client acceptance and support. They will be accountable for maintaining and improving the project profitability baseline for automation projects, while maintaining quality, disciplined execution practices, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: Manage a variety of network automation projects; including custom software development projects and other network management -related engagements Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects Work with practice leads and technical primes to ensure resource availability and allocation Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress Measure project performance: drive solutions to all risks, report and escalate to management as needed Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using risk management techniques Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders Establish and maintain relationships with customers, local Nokia account teams, and third parties/vendors Create and maintain appropriate project documentation Conduct post-project analysis and lessons-learned retrospectives to identify best practices and opportunities for improvement Work with delivery managers to refine software project delivery process Serve as an advisor; training, coaching, and mentoring peers to learn and apply standard framework, agile techniques, and best practices What you will learn and contribute to Service Orientation: Anticipates client s long term requirements and identifies required improvements to service delivery. Planning and Organizing: Develops and oversees multiple projects and anticipates risks and takes appropriate steps. Accountability and Dependability: Evaluates and responds to complex requirements that supports the organizational direction. Decision Making: Balances risks and potential implications before making a decision and explains the rationale for the decisions that impacts the projects and/or business. Communication: Effectively communicates for maximum results. Negotiation with other business units to obtain project alignment on scope & schedules Conduct stakeholder meetings and forums in order to solicit feedback, input, and expectations; incorporate these into project plans. Critical thinking: Interprets data through observation investigations, communication, reports, and others in order to address needs. Result Focus: Adapts performance and goals to help move projects along, volunteers their help to ensure every task is completely efficiently. Goes the extra mile to ensure the goal is met. Your skills and experience 10+ years of experience in project management in the software industry Experience managing client-facing engagements Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and IP networks Experience working with distributed delivery teams Excellent written and verbal communication skills Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills Strong working knowledge of project management tools and best practices PMP / PRINCE II certification is desired.
