Job Description

Description

  • Support new product launch program by acting as focus person for sourcing, costing procurement activities until 1st production run, managing E2E supply readiness from Proto to Mass production for assigned projects.
  • Program management within sourcing through Commodity managers RD to meet aggressive COGS target and/or new suppliers/commodities for development and ensure the CBOM meets the design target before production launch
  • Drives the release of materials in timely manner with project core team/RD to meet proto, pilot initial production build dates.
  • Drive Part shortage meetings with Program , Engineering, Build, Suppliers(Global suppliers) team and ensuring part availability for the build
  • Review long lead time and unique components and coordinate with Design Program management to ensure product availability for pilot and initial launch
  • Identify and work with Global suppliers for sourcing and component development and pilot supply fulfillment
  • Follow u against order and ensure receipt
  • Support RD sourcing effort by identifying and purchasing of components during prototype build through coordination with our Contract Manufacturing Partners
  • Lead and drive sourcing activities and Commodity managers to achieve CBOM targets
  • Investigates new or alternate sources of supply to support new product development, cost reduction requirements and/or supplier performance issues in coordination with Global Commodity managers
  • Preparing MIS weekly and monthly and discuss with management
  • Escalation path for purchasing group to support delivery expediting and/or quality matters to ensure supply continuity during NPI phase
  • Work on VA/VE opportunities till closure identified during NPI launches
  • Work with R D to propose alternates for cost advantages
  • Work with Commodity Managers to ensure alignment in NPI sourcing with Commodity Strategies
  • Work with Engineering to use the Strategic suppliers on AVLs

What you need to do it well

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, with 8- 10+ years of experience in NPI sourcing planning activities
  • Support new product launch program by acting as focus person for sourcing, costing procurement activities until 1st production run on assigned Mechanical commodities.
  • Sourcing procurement knowledge to achieve CBOM launch targets
  • Program management skills to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with associated procurement based technical knowledge
  • Strong personal computer application usage skills are required (Desktop office and ERP systems applications)
  • Must be able to work in an environment of short notice changes, and tolerate interruptions
  • Direct experience with Oracle ERP Business Systems and related procurement transactions desired
  • APICS CPM, and/or other certifications a plus
