Job Description

    • Resolving incidents relating to VDI.
    • Provide Out of Hours On-Call support for P1 or critical incidents. P1 or critical incidents are addressed 24x7x365 days. Outside of the Business Hours, P1 or Critical incidents are handled through On-Call Support.
    • Associate active directory permissions groups to work pools for virtual desktop and virtual application access
    • Maintain and update all active directory Group Policy Objects (GPO) required to support and manage the desktop virtualisation
    • Provide creation, deletion, and management of active directory computer objects used for the virtual desktop environment
    • Provide end user population, deletion and management of domain security groups used to provide access to virtual workspace resources via established trust configuration
    • Validate that web interface and connection server is online and operational along with applicable sites as part of incident management
    • Deploy or remove virtual desktops pools upon request
    • Provide deployment and periodic update of client-provided images into the virtual desktop environment
    • On a periodic basis, patch and update the gold image used by persistent user s virtual desktops with the latest critical and security updates from Microsoft for Windows operating systems
    • Provide analytical diagnostics and performance monitoring of the virtual desktop hardware
    • Apply firmware updates to desktop virtualisation supported environment
    • Apply patches to the hypervisor used on the desktop virtualisation and supporting server OS
    • Manage the Type 1 hypervisor layer of the supported environment including VMware, Citrix and Microsoft components
    • Perform routine maintenance, perform periodic patching and system updates to the hypervisor layer
    • Support the software/hardware troubleshooting, fault isolation and repair processes, including vendor coordination for virtual desktop infrastructure software and supported hardware based on client-purchased maintenance agreements from the OEM
    • Liaise with 3rd-party suppliers and vendors where required as part of incident resolution
    • Use reasonable endeavours to support the hardware / software / tool where at a level not supported by the OEM
    • Participate as resolver party in Priority One resolution process (owned and managed by client s service management team)
    • NTT DATA in conjunction with eir deskside team will build and maintain gold image . We assume that the gold image is built on windows operating system and that the changes to the image happens once a quarter.
