Job Description

Key Tasks / Accountabilities

  • Development of the Informatica systems for enterprise data movements supporting Operational and Analytical systems
  • Develop changes to the MDM platform
  • Develop dashboards and changes to the Data Cataloguing and glossary toolset
  • Solution design and build to support complex business requirements
  • Full development and test activities for developed code packages
  • Unit test and peer review of code
  • Administration and support of the Informatica platform in conjunction with the environments team and IT department
  • Understand the data tooling landscape and which solution is the best fit for which tasks
  • Understand the Micro Focus data migration engine, and ETL Hub roadmaps and assist with the technical design and build to bring that towards completion
  • Work with the current partners to understand the design, implementation and operation of the full toolset
  • Provide an assurance role during any development carried out by external teams
  • Contribute to the Design, Development and Delivery of future enhancements to expand the capabilities
  • Produce all relevant documentation (e.g. solution designs, mapping specifications, training materials etc) required to fulfil the role.
  • Work with the Test teams to define requirements create test and execute them
  • Working with IT to understand and follow the Change and deployment process
  • Work package estimation
Measures of Performance
  • Complete and up to date technical documentation of all systems
  • High quality solutions developed and deployed target of zero production defects within 30 days of any production release
  • Successfully learning other technology areas to be able to assist across the landscape
  • Carrying out development tasks to the required standard and within the required timeframes
  • Accurately estimating complexity and duration of solutions
Knowledge Skills and Experience
  • Understand complex business requirements and translate them into a technical design Specification
  • Demonstrable experience of detailed design, build, and execution of ETL within highly complex disparate data sets across multiple technologies
  • Excellent Knowledge of Informatica (IPC and IDQ)
  • Knowledge of Oracle and MS SQL database technologies
  • Development experience creating data models to support products and BI and reporting solutions
  • Experience in Development and Administration of Informatica
  • Solution Design and complex mapping experience
  • Understanding of development tooling ALM, HP Agile Manager, SVN & Jenkins
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to track progress of development work and provide updates to project teams and accurate estimation for completion
  • Highly organised and structured approach to work
  • Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Have strong communications skills to make presentations both in face-to-face meetings and remotely over the telephone.
  • The ability to work in a constantly-changing environment
  • Have flexibility in working patterns especially as you need to interact with people located in the Americas and Asia Pacific as well as EMEA.
  • Experience of the full software development life cycle (SDLC), software development, testing methodologies. This should include Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban etc.
  • Knowledge of and/or qualifications in ITIL
  • Bachelors (undergraduate) degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience of contributing to the success of a range of small-to-midsize projects of increasing complexity and business criticality
