Description The Platform Services Database Product Line is responsible for defining, developing, engineering and operating Database products consumed by our Application Development Partners across the firm. Our Product Portfolio includes Private and Public Cloud offerings. As an Infrastructure Engineer you work as part of the Oracle team in Platform Services enabling key Oracle features in line with JP Morgans control policies.We look first and foremost for people who are passionate around solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. The role will require proficiency in all aspects of software development, responsibilities include:
• Reviewing and elaborating stakeholder requirements. Working with Product Owners to shape the product direction, balancing whats technically feasible and what is desired by the end user.
• Implement solutions with an equal focus on both functional and non-functional requirements
• Understand/apply reusable code design, leverage application architecture/framework capabilities and functionality, and design/develop solutions that are highly reliable, scalable, and perform to meet business-defined service levels.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure quality solutions are built and tested.
• Employ Agile practices; Pair Programming; Continuous Integration; Test Driven Development, etc.
• Contribute to the technical code and design documentation.
• Conduct solid analysis and problem solving to provide production support and L3 cover
Technical Skills:
• Strong experience in at least one programming language, preferably Python
• Expertise in leveraging APIs, and security, authentication and data structures.
• Knowledge of Powershell, Unix Shell scripting & SQL.
• Good understanding of development tools: source code control software, automated build, automated testing and JIRA etc
• Expertise in software design using SOLID or GRASP.
• Exposure to Micro service architecture, REST API design/development
• Experience with build automation, test driven development, continuous integration and delivery
• Experience with Relational Databases (Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server)
• Experience of Web UI frameworks such as REACT or Angular
