Job Description

GTI is designed to address the unique infrastructure needs of specific lines of business and the demand to leverage economies of scale across the firm.Global Service Operations (GSO) is responsible for service support and delivery for JPMorgan Chases (JPMC) Global Technology Infrastructure. Through its Global Service Desk and Infrastructure Operation Centers, GSO provides global, coordinated diagnostic and support services, while it s Production Assurance and Support functions leverage and execute industry-leading infrastructure management and support processes that are designed to minimize customer outages and impacts. The MQSeries Operation Specialist will work as part of the team responsible for 24x7 operation of JPMCs MQ messaging environments in a follow-the-sun support model. This role includes but not limited to operation monitoring, incident resolution, application developer support as well as coordinating and implementing user driven and infrastructure driven changes. Additionally the team is responsible for operational risk management, software and hardware upgrades, capacity management, and other operational management functions.Daily Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting / Diagnosing / Resolving daily issues in Development / Testing and Production Environments
  • High Priority Production issue resolution
  • Engaging and liaising with other technology areas and line of businesses
  • Environment Break-Fix
  • Disaster Recovery / Sustained Resilience Co-ordination and Testing
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Service Improvements based on re-occurring issues and RCAs
  • Working within a shift pattern to enable follow the sun support 24/7
  • Planning and implementing MQSeries configuration changes
  • Planning and implementing maintenance activities: SSL certificate renewals, OS patching, MQ patching.
Qualifications/Internal
  • Strong experience in a working in a middleware operational function
  • Detailed understanding of MQSeries messaging and how it functions in secure environments
  • Good problem & customer management, analytical, self motivation, verbal and written communication skills and an ability to deliver in high pressure situations
  • Java/Python development a plus
  • Must be able to work with and leverage skills from other teams in the organization
  • Experience working in a customer facing role and part of a geographically distributed team
  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in:
    • MQSeries administration tasks
    • MQSeries problem determination
    • Unix/ Windows System Administration
