Job Description

Joining us means joining a truly global community of more than 38 900 people dedicated to solving real-world mobility challenges and achieving international projects with sustainable local impact.Configuration and Data ManagerBased: Bangalore, India JOB PURPOSE : Reporting to the Head of IT4IT & Tranformation, the Configuration and Data Manager is in charge of maintaining and improving the configuration management, as well as supporting the data management of IS&T as a business. YOUR RESPONSIBILITES : Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Build the vision of configuration management for Alstom IS&T and drive the execution of the related strategy, in particular implementing the operational roadmap and proper improvement initiatives
  • Support the positioning and use of the configuration management data base as the single point of truth
  • Ensure end to end view of the configuration management process and act as the single point of contact for the configuration and data management topics
  • Strengthen the configuration management data base implementing discovery process
  • Ensure continuous improvement of configuration management data base accuracy and completeness, and ensure continuous enlargement of scope towards complete IS&T scope
  • Drive key projects and initiatives related to configuration management and ensure strong articulation between them and mobilisation of the right resources
  • Ensure continuous progress in terms of automation of data upload to configuration management data base
  • Define and implement a strong configuration management governance model, and implement clear roles and responsibilities for configuration management stakeholders
  • Maintain strong and close relationships with configuration management key stakeholders including service owners, application owners, architects and IS&T Directors
  • Communicate regularly about configuration management strategy, priorities and on-going projects to external and internal partners, and ensure constant awareness and alignment
  • Maintain constant awareness and sponsorship of the IT leadership team through appropriate reporting about configuration and data management (priorities, blocking points requiring arbitration, strategy adaptations)
  • Measure the satisfaction of configuration management stakeholders on regular basis, define and implement the related improvement plan
  • Guide, support and mentor the configuration management team, providing new opportunities to grow, get exposed to stakeholders and learn continuously
  • Support the delivery of the IT4IT & Transfomation roadmap, challenge it and bring adaptations if required
MAIN CHALLENGES OF THE ROLE :
  • Understand the global IS&T strategy and its articulation to the overall Alstom strategy
  • Understand the overall IS&T organisation (including external partners) and the challenges of every operational teams
  • Develop a culture of digital and transformation within the IS&T through constructive iteration and agility
  • Collaborate actively with run and project operational teams from the entire IS&T organisation
  • Manage the configuration management team as well as parners and suppliers
