Job Description

The IT Application Technical Analyst is a mid- level position in the IT ApplicationAnalyst job family.The primary responsibility of the IT Application Technical Analyst is to provide highlyskilled technical expertise in business application administration. They consult andcollaborate with the application analyst, development, and infrastructure teams, aswell as business stakeholders to provide a high degree of system reliability, availability and performance.Perform business application administration IT Application Technical Analysts perform Business Application Administration tasksas requested. These tasks include patching and upgrades, moving changes toproduction, security configurations, spool management/ administration, batchmanagement/ administration, daily health checks (work processes, users, systemlogs, dumps, locks, developer traces, system traces and disk space) , user creation, access rights configurations, backups, and creating/ maintaining integration pointswith other external systems. Install, upgrade and maintain business application systems They install, upgrade and maintain business application for Dimension Datacompanies. They apply Support Packages, Support Stacks, patches and componentupgrades. These individuals manage application users, authorisations and profiles.They maintain the integrity of the application system environment by managing thedev, QA, and production systems and the data they contain. Resolve problems IT Application Technical Analyst perform troubleshooting and analysis for applicationtechnical problems and issues. They work with application and infrastructure teamsto troubleshoot and analyse problems/ issues. Perform configurations They configure required monitoring configuration for the business applicationssystems and databases. The IT Application Technical Analyst performs monitoringand tuning on applications and databases. Behavioural skills IT Application Technical Analysts demonstrate strong analytical skills with the abilityto investigate problems and develop/ execute appropriate action plans. Theydemonstrate the ability in exercising initiative and independent judgement on issues, follow- up and resolution. They possess good time management skills and maturity inhandling complex issues and requirements with conflicting priorities and deadlines.These individuals demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills. Theypossess a positive can- do approach to work and a cautious, detailed work style.Required Candidate profileIn this position you will be required to: Perform Business Application Administration tasks as requested. Install, upgrade and maintain Business Application systems including. Apply Support Packages, Support Stacks, patches and component upgrades. Manage Application users, authorisations and profiles. Maintain the integrity of the Application environment. Perform troubleshooting and analysis for basis problems and issues.
